Family information:
Hiren Gamnell is the only child of a working class family. Like most on Pamarthe, his parents were pilots by trade. Anything from land, air, sea, and space vehicles, which instilled in the lad a love and obsessive desire to pilot and tinker with any vehicle he can get his hands on.
Social status:
The boy ain't right. Hiren is rather obsessed with the mechanical, but his personality is friendly, personable and passionate to a fault. If you make the mistake of mentioning anything technical around him he will insert himself into the conversation and possibly overpower it. Still, his friendly nature has netted him many friends, and he tends to forge connections well. While not a man of means by any stretch of the imagination, and one of the many unknown bodies contributing to entropy in the galaxy, Hiren can GET things through various channels. A very average citizen of the Empire that disappears into the crowd easily, for better or worse.
Significant events of childhood:
While not terribly significant at this point, Hiren has had many spectacular crashes brought about by his constant modifications or daredevil stunts. Hiren is somewhat of a local legend in his hometown to this day, much to the embarrassment of his parents. The battle of Yavin in his teenage years had a massive impact on him. The Empire's spin on the battle had him believing his skills could best serve the Empire in their fight against the terrorist Rebellion.
Significant events of adulthood:
Not terribly much. His shenanigans have pumped the brakes on his military career numerous times, but never enough to cause a discharge from service. He married his teenage sweetheart before shipping off to the Imperial Academy. However his obsessions diverted his attention, resulting in a divorce rather quickly. The man just isn't cut out for relationships.
Alignment and attitude:
Chaotic Neutral. He's more interested in machines and flying than anything else.

Hobbies
Tinkering, inventing, holosims, and oddly enough dabbles in art and music on the side.
Tragedies in life:
No significant tragedies to date (unless you count how he handled his marriage) except losing friends to battle in his military career. All of his crashes and mechanical failure disasters in his early years resulted in no casualties or property damage. He might be a bit crazy, but he isn't stupid enough to test in populated areas.
Phobias and allergies:
He has a bit of an irrational fear of Hyperspace. He fears there are extra dimensional creatures there that will one day make themselves known in the most horrifying fashion. It's not a full-on phobia and is easily controlled, but is always in the back of his mind when he can see Hyperspace outside of transparisteel.
Views on the Empire and the Emperor's Hammer:
It's not something he thinks about often. The Empire is the galactic government and he serves its military. He possesses a loyalty to the Empire and the Emperor's Hammer because they let him do what he wants to do. He is also of the belief he is fighting for a legitimate government against terrorists.
Reason for enlisting in the Emperor's Hammer:
He wanted to fly for the Empire against the terrorists who destroyed the Empire's planetary mining station, crewing over 1 million souls, at Yavin.
