Battle Reviews

This was 5 very easy missions and one incredibly frustrating one. And it wasn't frustrating because of the difficulty, but because of the way the mission was constructed. I ended up having to kill ATRs on my own team to keep them from destroying the mission critical PLT they were supposed to be capturing.

Not to offend, but this battle should not have made it through the beta queue in it's current form. Starships using fighter orders, messages displaying at obviously wrong times....

Good battle. It may not have much of a plotline, but the dogfights drew my attention. A little more detail and plot and I would give it a 5.

Strange New Worlds
==========================
Created by CMDR/CM Krax Tarnisar/Spear/Wing IX/ISD Relentless

Reconnaissance and exploration is part of the mission of any element
of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet. This is especially true of areas
of space that could be of strategic importance to the EHSF.

But what happens once such a system is found? This battle traces such
an encounter, from the first exploration mission to the final push
to capture the system. But there is a twist. Forces of the New
Republic have found this system as well, and are eager to establish
relations with the occupants. The trouble is, the Cni'a don't seem
to want to deal with EITHER the New Rep or the EH.

Mission 1: TIE/Defenders from Crossbow Squadron are sent on a simple
reconnaissance mission to Cyrix, a system reputed to be rich in
resources that the EH needs. No survey parties have ever scanned this
system, so you need to be on your guard. But it appears that the New
Republic has beaten you to the punch! And what are those strange
fighters doing?

Mission 2: Now that we've analyzed the data from the captured scout
ship, we need to do another reconnaissance of the Cyrix 4 system.
Your job is to get in and get out, checking out the platforms and
the capital ships defending Cyrix 4.

Mission 3: It seems that the Cni'a are determined to fight. And if
that's what they want, that's what they'll get! An invasion fleet is
being assembled, and it will need free space to operate. This is a
fighter sweep mission. Go in and destroy all present Cni'a fighters!

Mission 4: Ambush! A New Republic strike fleet has pulled us out of
hyperspace with an Interdictor and is attacking. Bloody their noses,
and save the fleet.

Mission 5: The assault on Cyrix 4 begins. You will be flying a Missile
Boat with a double load of heavy rockets. Destroy all assigned targets
and see that no vessels escape from this system. Once we have secured
system space, the land invasion will begin.

Mission 6: This is a simple one. A reward for your brilliant performance
in the earlier missions. All you need to do is fly a simple patrol and
cover the invasion fleet. There may have been a few R-41s that slipped
past us, and you need to 'discourage' them from doing anything foolish.

Correction notes:
