Introduction

Throughout the history of the Dark Jedi, and in particular the Sith, there have been specialized operatives that excel in the field of assassination, earning them the title of Assassin. Historically it has primarily been the Sith that have been trained to be assassins but in the current Brotherhood any one of the orders may choose to train in the ways of assassination. Assassination is not a very desirable profession. The work is often detestable, dishonorable, and often times it lacks the credit or glory attained through other professions. If an assassination goes wrong it usually ends up with the assassin being killed, as almost everyone hates an assassin. The field of work requires no mercy be shown, and none should be expected. The most important person an assassin must always be ready to eliminate is themselves. There is no room for error and, for a true assassin; capture would be the ultimate mistake. If you honestly think that you are ready to pursue the career of an assassin then continue on learner.

Over your assassin training you will learn to become one of the most lethal forces in existence, capable of eliminating multiple targets in close quarters combat utilizing only your hands and feet. You must first learn the basics before attaining these skills and all starting assassins are trained to keep as much distance from their target as possible. There are several ways to eliminate targets from a distance. Sharpshooting, explosives, traps, sabotage and even hacking if skilled with mechanics or computers. The choice is ultimately yours and we will cover some of the beginner’s techniques to give you a better understanding on how to eliminate your targets.

Explosives

The most successful method of assassination, and most likely always will be is by using explosives to eliminate a target. With a large explosion there is little chance that the target can dodge the blast. If shrapnel is used with your explosive it will increase the chance of a kill. Most bombs can be made from simple materials, but as a Dark Jedi you will be capable of making bombs in which you can trigger much like a Stud Plate in a light saber, detonating the explosive on your own thought rather than a timer or remote signal which can often fail. The smart assassin will always use only the proper amount of explosives for any assassination. A bomb that is too small will only injure and could leave the target mobile and alive, and a blast to large could eliminate non-hostiles in the area. We will discuss two types of bombs that can be used.

HE Bomb
An HE Bomb, or High Explosive Bomb, is the most widely used bomb in history. Engineers of the Hammer's Fist use HE Bombs to destroy bridges and crossings to limit enemy movement or prevent them from crossing water, canyons or ravines, or elevated areas. An HE Bomb is also useful in completely incinerating a target and the surrounding area. The HE Bomb is usually constructed with larges amount of explosive powders and combustibles with very little shrapnel because the blast will be the primary killing force. These bombs are easily constructed, even by novice assassins, and are generally the best means of eliminating a target. These types of bombs can also be used against heavily armored or fortified targets that would less likely be breached by standard methods. The normal lethal blast radius of an HE bomb is nine (9) meters.

Spread Bomb
A Spread Bomb is a less powerful than an HE bomb but is just as lethal under the right circumstances. A Spread Bomb contains high amounts of shrapnel which, when detonated, will project in all directions puncturing and destroying anything in its blast radius. The most effective shrapnel to use is copper. When this metal is heated it will pierce through almost anything including armor. Glass, titanium and even metallic beads are also effective materials that can be used as shrapnel. A Spread Bomb is most effective at a range of 6.1 meters depending on the type of shrapnel material and the material protecting the target. Another advantage of the use of shrapnel with the spread bomb is that even if the target is not immediately eliminated in the blast the shrapnel will prevent proper healing and will cause trauma and bleeding until death. It is also a fact that muscle contracts around foreign objects, and once the shrapnel cools it will begin to dig deeper into the body of the target which increases the success of elimination.

Interrogation

As an Assassin you will come to learn that information is the most important tool you can have in your arsenal. Without proper knowledge of your surroundings, obstacles, routes, the target itself and possible threats opposing you, your career as an assassin will be short lived. In most assassination tasks you will more that likely only be supplied with a small amount of information about your target. This may not always be enough information to carry out your task so it will be in your best interest to observe your target and find others that are close to the target to abduct for interrogation. There are several methods of interrogation but there is always one rule that MUST be followed. Once a subject has been interrogated they must be executed and their body must be well hidden or destroyed to avoid tipping off your target that they have been selected for termination. This is very important and something that you must remember. In addition, it is also desirable that once you have obtained the information from an interrogation, you eliminate your target as soon as possible. Depending on how close the person was to your target, the absence of the subject you interrogated could begin to raise suspicion and cause the target to go into hiding.

Passive Interrogation
Passive Interrogation is rarely used but it can be a useful method when other methods may be too extreme or risky. The best way to pursue passive interrogation is to make sure that the person being interrogated is unaware that they are being interrogated to begin with. This can be done by using monitoring devices to spy and listen in for information you may need thus allowing you to keep a distance, or you can even pose as someone else and approach the person and obtain the information in a friendly manner. Passive Interrogation also gives the option of not having to execute the person that was interrogated should your interrogation remain unknown to them.

Aggressive Interrogation
Aggressive Interrogation is just the opposite of passive. As Dark Jedi we have the ability to enter minds and read them. You will use mind tricks and deception, but not physical abuse, to obtain the information you require. As an assassin you will have to remember that playing mind games is another powerful tool to master. Examples would be to make the person you are interrogating believe that you have a family member in danger, or that you possess and are going to release damaging information. More aggressive scare tactics can also be useful. Such as making the subject think they themselves are in danger should they not speak or creating confusion of where they are. However this type of interrogation will result in you having to execute and dispose of your subject to avoid any warnings about you getting relayed to your target. Be sure to hide the corpse very well so that it is not found as this could also alert your target. These are only some of the basic successful examples so how you choose to obtain the information you need is ultimately your decision.

Torture
The most effective form of interrogation is Torture. This is best used when Aggressive Interrogations have failed and you must use physical force to obtain the information you need. Using devices on fragile areas of the body, or simply beating your subject are the most general forms of Torture. Other desired forms of torture include electrocution, drowning, burning, breaking and cutting. Once you begin Torture you must not stop until you have extracted all of the information you require. It is also important not to let your emotions or feelings interfere with your work, and you must remember that it is nothing personal; it is just means to an end.

Long Range Weapons

If the use of explosives is not an option, the next most effective and safe way to eliminate your mark will be through the use of long range weapons. This is an art that has been practiced by soldiers and assassins alike since the use of projectile weapons firing a single round at a target. This art has multiple names and whatever you choose to call it is your choice, be it Sniping, Sharp-shooting, or Marksmanship. Fundamentally it is to shoot at exposed individuals from a usually concealed point of vantage. In this day and age we have evolved past using projectile weapons and now use lasers and other types of ammunition. There are only a few reliable rifles used by assassins around the galaxy which will be described below.

EE-3 Carbine Rifle
The EE-3 is a BlasTech weapon and was modeled after the BlasTech E-11. The rifle is multipurpose and designed to double as a short or long range weapon. It is commonly used by Bounty Hunters and Assassins to get the job done quickly and easily. The EE-3 is equipped with a long-range scope capable of interlinking with a helmet interface to provide optimal sharp-shooting ability. For long range shooting the EE-3 has the ability to charge a stronger bolt than that of its normal firing in short range combat, thus giving the single shot more cutting ability to go through brush and thin obstacles if needed. The EE-3 is far more accurate than the standard E-11, but it greatly resembles the E-11. For long-range firing the EE-3 has a fold out stock and can be equipped with a bi-pod for stability to increase accuracy. This rifle uses Energy Cells for ammunition, but this is where the EE-3's draw back comes into play. Most energy cell packs contain 100 cells to fire, however the EE-3 uses a minimum of 8 cells per shot in short range, 16 cells per charged shot in long range and 24 cells per shot if using the tri-bolt setting. This weapon quickly exhausts energy cells but it is a very powerful rifle and very effective in the hands of a skilled assassin.

RT-97C Heavy Blaster Rifle
Mostly used by Imperial Stormtroopers, the RT-97C is a large and heavy rifle. Due to its size it is often less preferred by assassins because it is cumbersome and draws unwanted attention. Due to its power and accuracy this rifle can be used to penetrate armored vehicles and buildings to land one very powerful bolt into a target. The results of a target being hit by an RT-97C bolt is usually either the loss of a limb or a very large hole approximately 45 inches around. This rifle is equipped with multiple scopes for different means of engagement. The first is a thermal scope which can be adjusted to view nearly all heat signatures from any life form. The second is an enhanced long range scope capable of hitting targets nearly 3.2 kilometers away. The third scope is a passive infrared scope which will eliminate conditions such as rain, fog, darkness and more making it nearly impossible for a target to be hidden due to natural causes.

These two rifles should be your first choice in selecting a rifle for a learner such as yourself. Should you pass the exam to this course you will be a Novice Assassin, and may be called upon by your Hetaeria to eliminate targets by means of assassination.
