Section 8: Conclusion

Although not a widely publicized medium for coding web pages and databases, XML is a vital part of many professional sites and is frequently used as a backend to any major database, whatever the default coding language. XML back-ends allow other sites to link directly to data or sections of data found within a database or the site itself. XML is also incredibly useful as a cheaper and possibly simpler alternative to creating/coding a database in any of the other languages. This language is a most powerful tool for the modern web developer, and I hope this Course has given you an insight into a coding system with much potential.
