Section 2: Sith In The Dark Brotherhood

The ancient order of the Sith has served as the key force in the Dark Brotherhood. Its rightful place as the dominant power in the Brotherhood is maintained by the Grand Master serving as Dark Lord of the Sith. In fact, all Grand Masters of the Brotherhood from days past and present, save four, have been from the Sith Order.

The Sith were the original Order within the Dark Brotherhood, with the Krath being nearly as old. Through the progress of time, the Sith have been the largest and most active of orders within the Brotherhood, contributing the majority of great leaders to the Dark Brotherhood. This trend of course is bound to fluctuate over time.

The Sith Order was once led by the Sith High Warrior, who served as the link between the Order and the Dark Council. It was through his guidance that the Sith Order grew and flourished. The Sith High Warrior was at one point named a Sith Advisor to the Dark Council, when the Grand Master ruled over the matters of the Sith personally. As the Brotherhood grew, the Grand Master could not concentrate on but one Order, and the need for a full liaison was needed; thus the creation of Sith High Warrior. Though the position was dissolved at the end of the reign of Darth Carnifex, the men and women who held this position played an important role in shaping the Sith Order as it stands today.

The Sith Chain of Command (Position Structure) within the Brotherhood follows:

Dark Lord of the Sith (Grand Master)
The Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood is the ultimate authority in the Sith Order. He is the highest of our Order, and the person whose example the Sith Order tries to follow to the greatest of degrees. He is not only the highest ranking Sith, but the most powerful.

Sith High Warrior (position currently not in use)
The Sith High Warrior was once the leader of the Sith Order. He acted as a liaison between the Dark Council and the Houses of the Sith. He was the person who chose the direction that the Sith Order would follow, and was the member of the Dark Council who was in most direct contact with the Sith Membership.

Clan/House Summits
Though the leaders of Clans or Houses might be of any Order, it is important to note the position in the Sith Chain of Command. Sith Flight Members (discussed below) answer to their Battle Team Leaders, who in turn must answer to the Summits, and, even if they are not members of the Sith Order, the Summit members are still in the Sith Chain of Command (CoC).

Sith Flight Member
The Flight member is the most basic position in the Sith Order. Their duties entail flying missions, writing fiction, designing battles, and doing whatever activities their commanders ask of them. To be a member of the Sith Order, simply replying to AWOL checks is not enough. Though this is the basic position, it is also the most important; it is the Sith Flight Members, much like the Obelisk Soldiers and Krath Tyros, that make up the bulk of the Dark Brotherhood.

The RANK STRUCTURE of the Sith Order falls second to the position structure. Thus, a Dark Jedi Knight serving as a Battle Team Leader is in charge of a Dark Jedi Master serving as a Sith Flight Member. Below are the Dark Brotherhood Ranks for the Sith Order:

  • Dark Jedi Primarch (DJP)
  • Dark Jedi Master (DJM)
  • Dark Side Adept (DA)
  • Sith Warlord (SWL)
  • Sith Battlelord (SBL)
  • Sith Battlemaster (SBM)
  • Sith Warrior (SW)
  • Dark Jedi Knight (DJK)
  • Jedi Hunter (JH)
  • Guardian (GRD)
  • Protector (PRT)
  • Acolyte (ACO)
