My official welcome to Landon and Jacob has now become an official farewell as LT Cruise moved up to a FL spot in Delta and took his brother with him. I wish them both the best and at least we've replaced them already. Another official welcome is thus extended to COLs Madon and Torres, while we are joined as well by GN Pickled Yoda - three big names with a lot of history and I'm happy to have them all. I'm equally happy that Gilad finally found a GN friend.

SC continues to drive the bulk of squad activity with a very strong 114 LoCs awarded in the 8 days since my last report, if nothing else we're making the COO earn his pay. In addition Mason reminded us that quantity will never be beaten by quality, he flew a single TIE Free mission and instantly gained its current High Score - a very impressive way to make his mark in a new squadron.

I'm in the ever fortunate position of having good things to say about everyone and attach to the activity summary, long may it remain. For now I'm looking forward to the ongoing ship poll being run by the TCCOM and discussing the opening of a second ISD, with the division of our wing between the two. I think this would stand us in good stead for more competition and room for expansion, but equally its a blast from the past that may well allow us to re-embrace some of our lost former identity: ASF, ATF, TCBG, Immortal, Relentless, Grey Wolf...

I've already voted for the Immortal, however its a free vote so I would ask only one thing - vote whichever way you will, but just vote - or lose the opportunity to have a say.

Lambda Competitions

As you may have noted from the mails flying back on forth from an ever busy mailing list I issued a standing weekly challenge to any of the other CMDRs and squadrons onboard the Hammer. With our current proliferation of LoCs I think we're in a good place to take on all comers and send them back packing. This may well be misplaced ego and I stand by to be rolled over by the devastating force of Gamma or Delta, but I always valued these comps and I'm more than happy to instigate some squad vs squad rivalry.

The first challenge will hopefully be issued on March 1st, with a 7 day period to earn as many LoCs via Star Conflict as we can - our own honour and a made up title are at stake, but most of all our own pride, despite our new and shiny state. If a challenge is received then the comp will be confirmed and posted to the comp centre on the TC site.

Operational Picture

..."no vessel is to bear markings or identifications exceeding those laid down in Ships Standing Orders and the EHTC Maintenance Section pertaining to vessel type, limited to pilot name, squadron flashes, and any required serial numbers or safety warnings" - I'm going to read between the lines on this one and say the CMDR's nose art of a scantily clad female... ahem... got distracted...THAT isn't by the book. Although I suppose its a squadron flash of sorts, from a certain point of view...

...I don't get it... so the Colonel orders the General, who orders another General? Why are there two Generals, why aren't they in command? That's not how it works? I'm looking at the rank guide and I'm still not getting it. Is he some sort of... Special Colonel?.. What, theres 6 Colonels as well... and a Major? No wonder the LCM looks so bloody sad all the time...

CMDR's Corner

What can I say, so far its been an easy squad to run, with activity on all sides. I hope its going to continue and the longer it does so the more comps and support I can throw into the mix to ensure activity isn't just its own reward. Once again please vote in the ship poll, other than that stand by for another squadron to rise to our SC challenge.
