A
new calendar year brought new challenges to the Officers and crew of
the Challenge, not least
those whose ships were getting long overdue for an overhaul. With the
assistance of Firebird mechanics, Talom Jade's Eagles were now fully
operational and already making their mark; the first inter-squadron
competition for the two units had already been scheduled. End of Year
evaluations had also been completed, and a stack of medal and promotion
requests had just been sent to High Admiral Dempsey for her comments -
it had been a slower month, but still successful.
Sparky beeped an urgent warning, and Stryker nodded. He was due to meet
in a holoconference with the task force's other CMDRs in a few minutes,
and he didn't want to be late for the first meeting of the year!
Caf in one hand, Stryker took his seat at his desk and activated the
holoprojector. Only Major Shadowclaw of Thunder Squadron was present,
and Stryker gave his holographic avatar a respectful nod before
returning his attention to the datapad with the previous meeting's
minutes on it.

Eagle
is thriving, I've just spoken
with Major Jade and we are both very impressed with how our
sister-squadron is doing; we're looking forward to working together in
the big competitions this year!
Speaking of Eagle, our first inter-IW matches are scheduled for 4pm
Eastern tomorrow. Platform is Star Wars Squadrons. We will meet in the Challenge voice chat on Discord to
set up games.
December MSEs have been forwarded to the Commodore, and the FL vacancy
has been filled. I'll be e-mailing the applicants individually later
today.
Finally, we welcome SL Ein Bowman,
who joins us from the training facilities on the Avenger. They've
already accumulated 11 LoCs, so we're expecting great things from their
future!

Firebird Squadron Training:
Every two weeks, Firebird will assemble for Multiplayer Training! Star
Wars Squadrons, EA Battlefront 2, and others; let's try to get full
flights working together!
Pilots will be awarded an IS-BW for every 3 events attended, IS-SW for
attending the most events in six months, and an IS-GW for attending the
most events in a year.
