| 'What do you mean 'gone'?' Several of the officers on the Bridge flinched at the subtle punch of Stryker's words as he looked down upon the shorter officer; the petite blonde might have only been be a Lieutenant Colonel by rank but she was the Challenge's Wing Commander, so raising his voice was not necessarily the smartest of plans - but being told that their erstwhile Commodore had decided to go for a joyride in one of Firebird's spare X-Wings warranted such a response. Dempsey was one of the TIE Corps' finest pilot despite her recently-apparent recklessness, but most of her recent flight time was in simulators or against target drones; going somewhere in an unfamiliar craft without an escort was...unwise. Stryker sighed, this was exactly why promoting pilots to command positions was a bad idea - they wanted to be one of the team even when they held exalted ranks like High Admiral, and that either got themselves or their subordinates killed when something like this happened. Someone would have to go after her, and with General Berkana already having departed to take command of the Hammer and leaving Thunder leaderless, it was down to Firebird to track down their errant Commodore - Inferno's ships lacked the range and Tempest would stick out like a sore thumb if she was in New Republic territory. That said, it might not be a bad idea to have a bunch of TIE Defenders and Missile Boats handy when things inevitably got complicated... All they had to do was figure out where Dempsey had gone, and why... |

Squadron News per-se, but important nonetheless! First: General Berkana
is leaving the Challenge to take command of the ISD Hammer; his
departure means that Trivia for the Challenged is now in my 'capable'
hands. Second: Major Talon Jade has been selected to lead the second
Infiltrator Squadron, I hope you'll all join me in wishing them luck
and I personally look forward to future ship and squadron rivalries! If
anyone would wish to help the Major in this and transfer to the new squadron, please let us both know
ASAP! Major Jade has also been awarded a long-overdue Commendation of Bravery (the original having been lost to time immemorial), as has Lieutenant Hawkins who has been sneaking Fleet Battles vs AI in without any of us noticing! With Major Jade's coming departure, we are going to be in need of a new Flight Leader. Interested parties should apply to me, cc'ing Lieutenant Commander Cook - this is open to any active member of the Squadron, completing Squadron Management 5 will be beneficial but not a requirement. We are also sorry to say goodbye to Lieutenant Hackers, who will be transferring to the Reserves until issues with his Squadrons account can be rectified by EA and allow him to play again. He is replaced by General Elwood the Brave, who was one of our original lineup of Firebird pilots and has finally been released from the Hammer's Bridge to play with the starfighter crews once again! The Command Staff have approved my MSE comments, so medals will be forthcoming! Fully 3/4 of the squadron who were active as of November 1st are getting an award, well done guys! |

week has been rather quiet on the flight activity front, which is a
little concerning. We have players taking part in trivia or non-flying
competitions which is good, but remember we're here primarily to fly -
it's important to make sure you're flying something on the approved platforms list every week, even if you're not up to the same levels of activity we achieved in October. COL Stryker |
