TCCOM REPORT #14 | ||
REPORTING OFFICER: Fleet Admiral Plif, TIE Corps Commander | ||
NEWS | ||
The roster is down two pilots, the net result of seven losses and five gains. While losses are always concerning, there's still an influx of returning veterans and new recruits to balance those out. All nine of our squadrons are in the 10-12 pilot range, which is a great place to be. The first and second episodes of the TIE Pilot's Podcast are out, you can find those on https://youtu.be/uSf_cAyEH2Q and https://youtu.be/ClWwyo_q29E. Excellent work by COL Zekk Terrik and LCM Jack Wynand! Raise the Flag is just around the corner. Beginning on September 1st, all pilots will be challenged to complete as many SP and MP missions as possible over the course of the month with a few bonus competitions, writing, and graphics as ways to earn additional points. This is our biggest competition of the year, with quite a few medals to award as well as the coveted titles of Flagship of the TIE Corps and TCCOM's Wingman. To review last year's rules and results, check out http://rtf.tsaunders.net/. Cadet training has been moved from the M/PLT Daedalus to the SSD Avenger as the First Recon Division makes ready to depart the Aurora Sector. Rather than attending the Daedalus Military Academy, they'll be attending the Imperial Weapons and Tactics School (IWATS). Lingering references to IWATS in the database are being changed to the Imperial University (IU), reflecting a change that was made many years ago. Actual news that I'm announcing here: After thinking about it for a while now, our exploration of adding Elite Dangerous to our list of supported games has come to an end. With Star Wars Squadrons on its way and plenty of activity in our other games, now just isn't the time to be adding another game and ED in particular would've required a lot of new processes in order to reward activity in it. Another concern I have about adding games is whether a significant portion of our active pilots would put time into it, and I just don't think that's the case with ED. If we started advertising ourselves as playing ED, then someone joined us to play that game and found that we only have a few pilots actively playing it, I think they'd be right to feel like we hadn't been entirely honest about what we play. Which brings us to games that we have on our list that don't get played that often or even at all, which we'll need to take a look at next. |

If you're serving in a CMDR role or higher and know you'll be out of contact for longer than day or two, please notify your chain of command that you'll be on Leave. That way we can make arrangements to handle your duties while you'll be away. If you'd like to submit something for the newsletter, just attach the file to an email and send it to me. If it's something that's already been uploaded somewhere, just email me the URL. If you complete a new Imperial University course, you'll notice that your EH database profile gets updated automatically but not your TC database profile. The latter are updated manually, please give us a couple of days after your test is graded for the new course to appear in your TC profile before you contact us about it. |
