Last week it felt like there were things getting ready to happen and they just hadn't yet, but who knew this much new stuff would all happen around the same time! We have a new Science Officer, VA Impulse. We have a new Recon Officer, VA Miles Prower (who's also an AD, that's kind weird). Commendations of Loyalty were awarded. The Hammer's Ship Evaluation for September was received, commented on, returned, and the first few medals have been awarded. MP nights are up and running with a handful of participants. It's been a good week!

The Trivia Grand Tour continues and is in its twelfth week. I only know as much as everybody else does about what's going on in RA Antiel's report fiction, but you'd think GN Frown of all people would've learned that where there's smoke, there's Kappa.

I try to keep a list of things to mention in my next report. I don't always remember to write them down, but when I do, I have a habit of not leaving myself enough detail. This week I have a note that just says 'drilling and phrasing'. That's strange.

	VA/COL Impulse Custom ship patches are one of the key ways that the Emperor's Hammer TIE Corps provides additional value and enjoyment for the games that we play and love. Ever since the EH Ship Patcher was released and eventually abandoned without XWA support, playing battles for that platform has been a complicated mess. When 64 bit operating systems became prevalent, the ancient methods became untenable. This been to the detriment of all pilots, and to those whose work on the patches has been unappreciated. Impulse has done the fleet a great service by remaking a patch executable for modern operating systems. Not only that, but he has secured us against future problems by documenting his solution and providing a source code backup. We will forevermore be able to build from our current position rather than remaking lost knowledge. Work on the patches and their tools is complicated and requires technical ability of rare quality. For his skill, initiative and single-handed efforts to restore the XWA custom ships, I hereby recommend Impulse for the Gold Star of the Empire! Recommended by: AD Pickled Yoda

On the occasion of the Founder's birthday, August 21st, the efforts of following TIE Corps officers have been recognized with the awarding of the Commendation of Loyalty:

Note: AD Pete Mitchell and AD/GN Mark Schueler were also recognized with the CoL, but not from within our internal nomination process.

How the CoL is earned: The CoL is awarded to officers that display consistently excellent service to the Emperor's Hammer. In practice, each leader within the TIE Corps (CMDR+) is asked to nominate one member of the Corps for the CoL (TCCOM nominates two). This is done only twice a year on the anniversary of the formation of the Emperor's Hammer on January 7th and the Founder's birthday on August 21st.

How the MoC is earned: In the monthly evaluations, each leader in the TIE Corps (CMDR+) lists all of the pilots that have checked in that month or communicated in a public forum. Those members are awarded an MoC with an oak cluster based on how many times they've earned the MoC in the past.

Oak Clusters: The MoC is always awarded with an oak cluster (MoC-boc, MoC-soc, etc.). For first two awards, it's a Bronze Oak Cluster. From there, the third award is Silver, the fourth and fifth awards are Bronze, the sixth award is Gold, the seventh and eighth awards are Bronze, the ninth award is Platinum, the tenth and eleventh awards are Bronze, and then the twelfth award is Diamond. After that, the cycle begins anew.
