| Welcome all to another COMM report, covering the 2 weeks since my last formal submission. A couple of items to report, albeit briefly - the EH CS without dual profiles have now had their backlogged Jan/Feb 21 MoCs recommended alongside those earned for Mar 21. It would appear that in the excitement of paternity leave and a sleepless 8 weeks I omitted to submit recommendations. me culpa, but this has now been resolved. I'm very pleased to note that diamond clusters are pending award to the FC, IO and ISP - a clear indicator that long-term presence, accessibility and communication are amongst the most valid contributions leadership roles can make. Finally, I'm very pleased to note the high level of communications on Discord particularly - while I've muted ship IS channels and am steering well clear of them, the hundreds of other notifications I am receiving daily make it clear that the membership is actively engaged across a full range of subjects, including the new art focused channel and the more mainstream ship and squadron areas. The one disadvantage to this is that amongst the wealth of content it can be hard to spot incidences of bad behaviour or poor judgement - I've had a few called to my attention recently and have managed to resolve or mitigate quickly, so I'm grateful for your continued support and attention. The TCCOM and IO acted equally quickly to remove problematic accounts who were abusing one of the voice chats earlier in the week, once again emphasising a need for us all to be vigilant and bring issues to admin attention promptly. | All members are reminded of the importance of following the agreed EH Code of Conduct, an up to date issues of which can be found at the following link - EH CoC The primary platform for communications within the TC and wider EH remains Discord, with the TC, DB and HF maintaining their own servers. All are official EH channels and per the above all members and guests are expected to maintain the family friendly, positive environment that we've been able to sustain. Any individual wishing to join in with the conversation need only select the link or type 'ehtc.chat' into their browser - use of mailing lists continues to dwindle, so continued failure to use Discord will only limit your ability to understand or take part in the club's activities. |

The hyperwave transceivers cycled down, with the palpable tang of ozone quickly dissipating as the systems de-energised. Technicians commenced their routine checks and inspections, dataslates in hand as they fussed over their systems with a level of attention and diligence that continued to impress the COMM. The current fleet exercises were an ideal opportunity to test not only the readiness of combat vessels, crews and command teams, but also that the combat support forces were just as ready to do their part. The vast amount of data and encrypted messaging passing between the various task forces had already identified problems within the relay networks of multiple capital vessels and a number of potential weaknesses that a ready enemy could exploit. The list of issues to resolve on La'an's dataslate was growing correspondingly longer by the day, but in all honesty he welcomed the challenges they represented. Suffice to say, a number of vessels were going to need significant work and the fleet would have to tolerate their absence for a period several weeks while urgent changes were made. Within the Herald's operations centre La'an continued to monitor communications across the fleet, noting the Hammer and Challenge associated channels suddenly jumping sharply into life. Setting himself behind the watch supervisor's station he made himself confortable for what promised to be an interesting few hours. |
