ISP Report # 3 (2002-02-15)

The Delta Project.. We're still going without getting a name for the main program that will handle the report writing and activity tracking records. More important than the name is the fact that we are moving forward. I have been given the priviledge to have up to two part-time assistant positions to aid me with this project. Right now I am naming one of them. My part-time assistant is CM Spearhawk. He has already begun programming on the calendar program and has come up with some good ideas about this project. While he is doing the calendar portion, I began on the main program. Seems as though VB 6.0 isn't ready to read Access 2000 databases, so I'm downloading Service Pack 5. Wahoo :P Spearhawk came up with the idea of having someone do the graphics for these programs to make a more Star-Wars looking interface. I think it may help the program's appeal. I and the other programmers will worry about the functionality. So anybody in the EH, who has experience doing graphics, especially for Visual Basic programs, may e-mail me and tell me about their experience (sending URLs to previous works and/or attaching SMALL images/programs may work). When I say small I mean less than 400K. I can still use someone who knows where is a good place to host websites. Money is an issue for me. It would be nice if someone who is already hosting could be gracious enough to give me some space so I can have a webpage up for this project. I don't know right now how big this program will be, but probably no more than say 10 MBs. If someone only mentions tripod.com, homestead.com, using my earthlink space or AOL space, then I already know about that, and the limitations to each. I created a group e-mail list in yahoo for the people helping with the program. The people in main demand will be still VB programmers, a graphics person for VB, and someone who can host the webpage. I, or some others, can create and maintain the webpage. If you want to know what this project is about, please refer to ISP reoport #2.
