Emperor's Hammer
Tactical Office Report #165

Introduction:
This is my last report as Tactical Officer. Many of you may be shocked, some of you may start celebrating, Mike is gone. Well, gone yes, but not quite. After consulting it with FC/GA Astatine, I have decided to resign from the position of Emperor's Hammer Tactical Officer, to allow fresh blood to flow within the office. Frodo March, has been named as my successor.
I guess all of you wonder, what is going to happen now. Well, I'm not entirely sure myself, but I will tell you what I am going to do now. I am going to stay as TACA and TCS-TCT (until TMD is introduced to this fleet) and help new TAC with everyday's duties. I will be serving as TAC's assistant until he decides he can do it all on his own. I will also be moving more into SCO part of EH. Since I am programmer in RL, I will continue working on my current projects. This means I will try to release TacDB 2.0 shortly, as soon as I can. Also, I will try to continue current competition, unless new TAC decides otherwise. I am sure, next Tactical Office Report, not sure if this will be #1 or Frodo will decided to continue the line of me and Striker, so #166, but wait for it.

Now. The next question you will probably try to answer. Will Mike join squadron, or he will do just like all those weak CSers, who retire and go to RSVs just to keep their high ranks. Answer is simple. I am requesting transfer to Diamondback Squadron, Flight 3, position 4. So I shall assume my original position, I had all those years ago. This also means, I will be Colonel, rank I've never held before.
I am not resigning from this fleet, I do not feel this way. To be honest, I have ran out of the fuel, needed to server as EH Command Officer. It's tough job, it takes the best of you. I am happy that I have survived for over two years.

Is EH going to see changes now, when I'm gone? Definately yes. First months will be rather tough for the new TAC. He will have to learn a lot of new things. But I think I have left him good grounds. Tactical Staff is well oiled machine, Tactical Manual has been updated to version 3.0, TacDB 2.0 shall be release shortly. Most of the tasks from the list are done or almost done. This means he will be able to introduce his own ideas to make this fleet better place. And I am going to support him. I am sure rest of Tactical Staff will do it to.

Achievements/failures:
Every career has it's comings and goings. I have had my achievements, but also I've had my failures. Before I come to the point, I would like to remind you all, that last two years were a period of stagnations and overall mutiny in this fleet. After rDB revolt, we've lost many good members, my CA:TAC, VA Gord Drakonnian ammong them, but we've managed to survive. I won't say we are stronger, I say we are more experienced. I am sure this new year will bring fresh air and new power to the EH. That's why I resign at the edge of the new era of this club. You may not agree with me, but I think I've managed to keep this office working during the worst of the EH times, no it's new TAC's time to kick some butt.

First I will tell you about my failures. Well, there were few of them. First, it took me two years to release 3rd Tactical Manual. That's almost disaster. Also, I didn't finish TacDB 2.0 in 2004, that's my failure too. I didn't run GTAs as I should. Took me almost 2 years to release fully working webpage, another failure. Didn't give enough support to the EHBL. Failed with JA and SWGB. Well, more and more. But, I am not affraid to say I have failed many things. I don't try to be a hero of the EH, I was just another TAC.

Now. I wouldn't survive over two years without any achievements. Well. I think the dotted list will be the best way to show them. I will try to list only the most important ones, at least in my oppinion:

  • Mission Creation Wars - competitions never seen before.
  • Introduction of the new platforms and a lot of new battle types.
  • Competitions' Calendar and Plotlines' Compendium.
  • Tactical Office Portal and there a lot of tutorials and other stuff
  • 3000 missions online or actualy 3400+ now.
  • Caught several cheaters and EHBL
  • Over 5000 approved (processed) high scores.
  • Article about EH for polish gaming newspaper.
  • EH Poland Meeting 3
  • Several bug cleaning projects and 3000 FCHG points
  • Introduction of Tactical Staff IWATS Course

People I would like to mention:
Well there is a long list of people who helped me during my time as Tactical Officer. I would like to thank them all for the time and good advices they gave me. Without them, there would be no celebrations.

Ender "the SCOtch" mBind - the best and the most active EH CO ever. His words and advices cleared my way through the darkness. He helped me to keep a just course of this office.
Styles - my right hand, my advisor, my good friend. You've never failed me and you were always there for me. Do not be mad. Help Frodo, and stay as CA:TAC unless Frodo decides otherwise.
My Tactical Staff: Master, Abel Malik, Frodo, Apophis, and all others - thanks to your hard work we've managed to achieve many great things. Let's keep up great work!
Ronin - for creating this club and keeping it running for the whole 10 years. You were always good boss Ronin, now let's both enjoy our quiet spots :)
Astatine - I didn't agree with all of your methods and your approach to the people, but I am sure you will make good FC. Just sometimes, listen more to your workers and thanks for my IC.
Drako - My appentice. You keep doing good job as TO, or get back to Diamondback.
Philo - My former CA. You did many great things for this club. Now, come back to more active duty
And all others who helped me during last 2 years - please do not be mad I didn't mention you here. My memory is not perfect ;)

Final words:
Now. This report is over. But I will still be here, working in shadows. You should all benefit from the fruits of my work. Now, when I'm going you'll be able to either celebrate my resignation or see what kind of TAC I was. For all those who want to contact me. I will be on IRC, #wingxiv, #tac and all other channels. Cya soon guys and gals. It's been an honor to lead this office for the last 2 years.
<SALUTE>
