RO Report # 56 (2004-12-25)

This report was submitted by AD Joe

Greetings from the Recon Office!

First off, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from my staff and I. I hope everyone is having a great time.

Obviously, the biggest news of the past week is the announcement that The Emperor's Hammer was awarded the opportunity, and honor, of being one of just a few fan clubs that will be represented at Star Wars: Celebration III in Indianapolis, Indiana this coming April. The EH will have an 8'-10' booth that will be staffed by at least two EHers at all times.

Obviously, this is a huge announcement in itself. The Emperor's Hammer, for the first time, is mentioned on Starwars.com, As well as The Force.net and several other sites around the web. We have publicity out the.. well you get the picture.

I will be emailing The Force.net and seeing if they have changed their minds about having a link to our domain off their site. >:P We'll see what happens.

As stated before, I will be gathering pricing info for all banners, bumper stickers, and pamphlets that will be handed out at Celebration 3. I will release those figures probably by next report. Depending on the price, I might be asked for some help... I work in Law Enforcement, so naturally I don't make much. :P

I would like to thank all the well wishers and everyone who have already pledged to help with either staffing the booth, or sending money to help pay for any costs for the booth. I will definitely be taking some of you up on you offer. Heh.

Lastly, I'd like to welcome Commander Magnus Vader to the Recon Office Staff. CM Magnus Vader will be an ROA helping out with the Convention Database for the year, as well as various other duties. Congrats!

Now, on to the news!

Star Wars News:

If you haven't heard, then you must live on Mars... Want to know who else will be there?? Go here: http://www.starwars.com/community/news/2004/12/news20041220.html

I will be needing help staffing the booth, so anyone who is wanting to help out who will be at CIII, email ro@emperorshammer.org. Type Booth Help in the subject field.

Samuel L Jackson's Joyous End to Star Wars

The Edmonton Sun reports that Samuel L Jackson is happy to have been part of the star Wars phenomenon, rather than sad over its end:

"We've all said our goodbyes but it wasn't some huge emotional time or anything like that," insists Jackson.

"It was far more joyous than sad. We know we're part of something very special and that makes you happy, not sad."

Jackson says it took two months in Australia to film his scenes for Revenge of the Sith.

"I have a 110-move light sabre fight that took two weeks to rehearse, so this is going to be my big Star Wars moment."

Star Wars Musical Humor

Two new SW Songs.. Friggen hillarious..

Dagobah

Parody of “Dragula” by Rob Zombie
(by Mikey Squirrel)

Jedi I am the one, here with Obi-Wan
Live amongst the trees, lifting rocks with ease
Jedi in the swamps, sittin’ on a stump
Ship is sinking fast, guess I’ll save your ass

CHORUS:
Run through the jungle, and try not to stumble
As we’re training in the swamps of my Dagobah
Run through the jungle, and try not to stumble
As we’re training in the swamps of my Dagobah
Jedi all alone, mudhole is my home
Old I have become, eight hundred years young
Jedi you could be, training you will need
Become an acrobat, I’ll ride on your back

(Chorus)
Chewie, baby Chewie, baby!
Chewie, baby Chewie, baby!
Roar like a wookie

Jedi can’t you see, don’t go in the tree
Dark side is in there, but you just don’t care
Jedi training ends, go and save your friends
One day you’ll be back, You can watch me die

(Chorus)
Chewie, baby Chewie, baby!
Chewie, baby Chewie, baby!
Roar like a wookie
(Chorus)
