RO Report # 54 (2004-10-15)

This report was submitted by AD Joe

Greetings everyone.

Not a lot of news going on at the moment in the world of Star Wars. Shocking, I know. I spent two hours browsing SW.com and The Force.net and a few other sites and there just really wasn’t anything I think the EH would be interested in. There is some news below for Non-US EHers who are wanting to order C3 tickets.

I talked to my interviewee, AD Motti from the SW IV. He stated he didn’t get my interview when I sent it back in September. I resent him the interview and he said he should get that back to me in a week.

I’ll be sending another, hopefully two additional interviews by next week. I’ll keep everyone updated on that.

That’s all for this week. Thanks for your time and hopefully I have for you next week. Till then!

***C3 Tickets For Non-US Fans***

From GenCon and Lucasfilm:

"There are actually many reasons for not shipping outside the US. We ran across these problems with our other conventions and wanted to streamline it so everyone was getting their purchased products. The first reason is timing. We don't ship until after the pre-registration period is over. This only gives the items 5 weeks to be packaged, sorted and shipped. We do the fulfillment in-house and with only a staff of 9 and some temps it takes us some time to assemble all the packets. The next reason is cost. In order to send out of the US we would have to not only create all the packets but sort them to where they were being shipped to. Once they were sorted we would have to pay the extra varying amounts to send them. The final reason is there are some customs issues in some countries. We had some packets held since they weren't just letter type mail. We made this decision to hold them at Will Call so those coming in from other countries wouldn't have to worry about these things. We want to make this as seamless as possible for all. We also open Will Call a day before the convention starts so you won't be missing out on anything.

As an added note, the currently scheduled hours for Will Call on Wednesday April 20th are 2 PM to 8 PM. Folks should check starwars.com and starwarscelebration.com for any schedule updates before the show."

***EP3: Teaser Banner Revealed?***

We were sent this picture (http://cgi.theforce.net/theforce/image.cgi?Image=episode3/newspics/epiiibanner.jpg) of what sure looks like a banner for Episode III. Is it legit? Here's a description to boot:

The banner is Anakin standing looking particularly evil in his dark Jedi robes. In the background are the tall walls of a Star Destroyer. The floors reflect the light of the walls. Around him is the silhouette or Darth Vader which fades into his Jedi outift. THE SAGA IS COMPLETE is printed across the top of the banner.
