GMF JediJawa Resigns, New Grand Moff Sought:  10.05.01
As Emailed From:  Former Grand Moff (JediJawa)

EH Directorate (DIR)

Well Conquest3 is still being worked on and its a massive project. Meanwhile the DIR chatroom is empty, mb vacant, mail list quiet and roster bored. While I know Conquest will boost activity and membership, waiting for Conquest is slowly killing the Directorate.

So, I'm going to step down as GMF. I'll stay on as some sort of position, maybe Deputy GMF, continue work on Conquest and running the web stuff for the DIR. Hopefully a new GMF can come in and do some sort of activity. I really have no idea what to do, I'm a programmer, not the kind of politician needed to keep people happy all the time.

GMF is open to apps from anyone in the EH...

AD WetWilly Resigns as COO, RA Brucmack Appointed as New COO:  10.06.01
As Emailed From:  Former Combat operations Officer (AD WetWilly)

Combat Operations Office

Greetings Grand Admiral Ronin, Sector Admiral Kawolski, Fleet Admiral Priyum, Combat Operations Assistants, and other members of the Combat Operations Staff.

I come to you all bearing bad news. It severely pains me to have to do this, but effective immediately, I must step down as the Combat Operations Officer. I'm sure you all have noticed the slide in my ability to keep up my work lately. This is mainly due to the fact that I am now trying to keep up with school, I now have a new job which I need in order to save up for college and maintain my car insurance, and just a general lack of time to do all the work that the COO position demands.

I sincerely hope that I will be remembered as a good Combat Operations Officer, as I have put numerous hours of work into the spot. I hope that the command structure and the way it is run will continue to go smoothly, and hopefully, the next COO can incorporate more inter-club wars into our playing field. I have put a lot of thought into this over the past three days, considering who would be my successor. I've considered both of my assistants, as they have both served me excellently over my six months as COO. Bruc was a strong and reliable assistant for months, both for Zsinj and me, before leaving for some time, and has recently returned to the position and has served me well since. Kyle was appointed to the spot much more recently, but overall has served me approximately the same amount of time as Bruc has. Kyle is very reliable and trustworthy.

It has been a hard decision to choose from two men who are excellent officers, and good friends. When it came down to it, I thoroughly believe that where my office needs to go from here is to help improve the quality of the multiplayer pilots in the EH. I've set up a sound structure for running the competitions and office, and now it only needs someone with the expertise necessary to set up academies and training courses to improve those who could one day lead the EH to the top of competitions such as the Week of War, and even future replacements for the Outer Rim wars.

Therefore, I've made the decision that my successor should be Lieutenant Brucmack. He is undoubtedly the best that the EH has to offer. He has always dominated all facets of multiplayer competition within the EH, and has been toying with the idea of setting up a MP academy for some time. I feel that he's ready to take on the reigns of COO, and lead us into improving our ability, to match our size.

Of course, the final choice is up to you, Grand Admiral Ronin and Sector Admiral Kawolski, but I feel that you both should accept Brucmack as the new COO, as I believe he is fully qualified to take over.

As for me, I have talked with Colonel Sickman of Wing V, and we have agreed that I shall take over as CMDR of Pe squadron. I have missed the joys of direct command, and look forward to the chance to help a small squadron become great. However, while I have fulfilled many goals, but have left many unfulfilled, therefore, I shall be staying on as an assistant to the COO.

Therefore, I address you for the last time as Admiral Wet Willy, I appreciate the faith and cooperation all of you have had with me, and I do hope that one day, I may be able to return to the Command Staff.

May the force be with you all,

Admiral Obeliskian Battlemaster Wet Willy

Salute!

My thanks to Willy for recommending me for the position, and I would like to add some comments of my own if I may.

The COO has moved forward greatly in the past little while thanks to Willy, with the much greater organization provided by #ehcoc and events like the EH vs. LSF and EH vs. NRN war, both of which we had good success in. However, we could have fielded more numbers of good pilots for those events, and that is something that needs to be worked on. As Willy mentioned, I have had contact with the Training Office about a flight school, and would certainly push for that a lot harder from the COO position.

I feel that for the first time I will fit this position, as I am going to be active for a much longer term than I was available for previously, up until next summer at least. If there are any concerns I would be pleased to address them.

Thank you for your time, and good luck to Willy as Pe squadron commander!

For hitting 10,000 grads in his popular IWATS school, HA Astatine is herein awarded the Imperial Cross (IC) Medal.

"hmm...this is quite an achievement! I would like to give him an award of some sort, but the only award I can think of would be the second Imperial Cross...only three people in the entire fleet have two."

VA Dark Angel Appointed as Prex of the Corporate Division:  09.20.01
As Submitted From:  Fleet Commander (GA Ronin) and Executive Officer (SA Kawolski)

Corporate Division (CD)

I would like to apply for the position of Prex.

About a year and a half ago, I was recruited into the Corporate Division. I started out as a Engineer Officer in the EHUES, The Uniform Creation Corp. While there Our Corp was awarded the Prex Citation for our outstanding work, and quick response to orders. For my personal innovation of programming our web site, and acquiring an online ordering system, as well as keeping up with my uniform creation duties, I was awarded the Corporate Duty Medal, and Corporate Gallantry Medal. About that time I went on a LOA for two months in the summer. When I came back, the Prex had changed, and the EHUES was without a CEO. I applied, and was given command of that. I commanded the EHUES for a few months, until the Prex was changed again and the CD was without a Vice-Prex of Training (TO) I applied to that, and was given that. There I worked towards expanding the current training system in the CD, but unfortunately that didn't go though due to a lack of interest. I was also helping Darkheart, one of our CEOs, working on a betting project.

I programmed an application that would track the games, and bets, and calculate the winnings/losses. I finished the application, but the project was never implemented because at the time the CD didn't have a credit system. As the VPT, I was awarded the Corporate Division Cross, the highest medal available, and was promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral. When the Prex changed again, the Executive Vice-Prex position opened up. I applied to that position, and was given that position. That brings us to my current position. As VPX I've been awarded the Direx Board Medallion, and the Star of Aurora, for my work. I have successfully implemented a Credit system for a limited time. I was then forced to take it down, to re-structure it, so it would be compatible with another project I undertook, an agreement between the CD, and the BHG. This system required us the implement a Stock Exchange system. I authored both the old, and new credit system, as well as the stock exchange system. I passed both of these along to Minkus to be approved before I implemented them, but that never happened. During the last weeks of Minkus' reign as Prex, I was forced to take a short leave, and when I returned we had a new Prex, new Direx Board and new database. When this happened, the VPB took over both the credit system, and stock exchange. I then looked for another project to work towards. I found this in the form of a CD Newsletter. While I'm a little behind schedule for its release, I hope to be able to get it out soon.

I have also held various other positions in the EH, and its SGs, but I don't feel I need to go into those for this position. If you would like me to, please e-mail me, and I will.

I think that just about covers it. If you have any further questions, please let me know, and I'll do my best to answer them.

XO Report:  10.03.01
As Submitted From:  Executive Officer (SA Kawolski)

Office of the XO

<SALUTE>

Well, apparently, I've had some computer troubles last week that has delayed the release of the Newsletter until I'm able to get a copy of it again. My laptop hard drive shut itself down before my usual monthly backup and much of the work I've done with the EH Database and Newsletter #78 has been lost, including my last report which didn't get mailed because I wanted to send it out in conjunction with the new NL. With the loss of the NL and all files and e-mails accompanying it, the only person that has a copy of the entire thing is ROA MAJ Aylius Khan. When he resurfaces and sends me a copy of the NL, I'll be able to redo what was lost, finish it, and release it.

Needless to say, I haven't been reporting in to the fleet as regularly as I have in the past and that will change starting now. Currently, the positions of CA:XO and XOA are unoccupied. I'll need a new Newsletter editor to help out. I'll make the requirements really simple for a new XOA:

* Must have access to an AOL e-mail account
* Must know how to use Macromedia Dreamweaver and know how to speak proper English fluently (and include a sample document of a large EH report or part of a school paper or something similar in HTML format...add some colors and random pictures to demonstrate HTML skills).
* Must be able to devote ~5 hours of time every first of the week to compile NL submissions.

Room for advancement including added duties and a promotion to CA:XO is a possibility.

The developments on the EH Database has hit a setback with the destruction of my laptop hard drive but recoding of the lost sections begins today.

I'll also update tiecorps.org and kawolski.com with the latest news tonight as well.

Security Directive #1:  09.19.01
As Emailed From:  Security Officer (FA Slade)

Security Office

Security Directive #1

All security related positions in all Subgroups, auxiliary organizations or anything relating to the security of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet falls under the jurisdiction of the Security Officer. The structure, command, authority and personnel of these groups therefore, are ultimately up to review by, and responsible to report to the Security Officer. The appointee charged with maintaining and operating each of these facilities is to report weekly to the Security Officer (or his/her designee). Thus, all matters of security within the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet are the responsibility of the Security Office, who will refer them to the High Court of Inquisitors (HCI), as needed, for judicial and disciplinary action.

SO / FA Slade J. Holm

Fleet Commander's Note:

ALL Subgroup Commanders (SGCOM) should take special note that this directive is to maintain consistency and fairness an integral part of ALL aspects of the EH.  It is especially intended to prevent various SGCOMs from creating their own set of security standards...You can all still do what you've been doing regarding your SG "security", but report in to the SO...regularly...

Please email me or the XO with any questions.

TO Report #80/IWATS Report #121:  09.22.01

Less than two hundred graduates are needed to hit the target of 10,000. This fact has been publicised on almost all the major EH message boards and hopefully will result in a pickup of graduate turnover.

IWATS turned five years old this month. It was formed originally by Pappy and has grown (especially in the last 3 years) into the EH's foremost academy, offering a wide range of courses. When I took over as Dean, the website was a mess, there was two IIC courses and one IWATS course. Now there's a total of 17 courses. Hopefully the next 5 years will result in similar improvement and growth. Several courses hit graduate milestones in the last week or so. TIE Tactics passed 200, while ICQ reached the 300 mark. Computer Basics passed 350.

TO Report #81/IWATS Report #122:  09.29.01

Well, it's finally come. Ten thousand graduates. Not 10,000 in the entire lifespan of IWATS, but 10,000 under my tenure of 3 years and a bit. This compares against the few hundred graduates of the previous IWATS Deans, covering a timespan of around 2 years. On average, that's about 250 graduates per month, every month, for those last 3 and a bit years. Lucky number 10,000 was FL-TCT/MAJ Lusankya/Copperhead 2-1/Wing XIV/ISD Intrepid AIM passed 200 as well.

EH News Item - Star Wars:  Battlegrounds:  09.27.01
As Emailed From:  INQ/AD Tron/VSD Stalwart

It's been awhile since I'd visited www.LucasArts.com and so I dropped in for quick check up yesterday when I notied SW:Galactic Battlegrounds. I went through the past EH news items for September and August and didn't see a mention of it, so I checked it out. I just have to say, this game looks "awesome." It's a cross of Starcraft and Age of Empires (leaning more towards AoE) and is just what we've been waiting for. Needless to say, my quick visit became an extended one.

It's now available for pre-order as well, so maybe you could add it to the EH Store, I already pre-ordered mine though.
