TAC Report # 82 (2003-03-28)

This report was submitted by AD Marcin Szydlowski

Another hectic week for me. A lot of work, a lot of cash. In other words reconstruction of network. But next week should be better. I am going to upgrade my computer, cause it's pretty old.

New battles and missions
There are some of them released this week. It's medium package containing XvT and XWA. As for TIE, we don't have too many new submisisions if any at all. We have hired new testers for TIE, so soon we should release some new TIE battles

TAC3K countdown!
TAC2,8k is very close. I hope we will hit it next week. We need only 214 to reach TAC3K! Good work Tactical Staff, keep it up!

Reminder
I've told you that before, but it seems not everyone understood. ALWAYS include your PIN in your ID line when you are mailing Tactical Office. I am giving you one week to adjust your ID lines. Starting March 17th, I will be ignoring all emails without PIN number. (of course only those emails which require your PIN. Questions and suggestions will still be adressed).

New rule about pilot file naming
It is rule already onboard few ship, but I am going to make it TC wide. All pilot files' names must consist your PIN. Especially when flying for HSs. I give you 1 month to learn this rule. On may 1st, all HS BSFs without PIN in plt file will be rejected.
We all want to make our lifes easier. That's why I set this rule. It will grealy increase speed of HS processing. Ultimately you can use the following format (most welcommed): TIE-TC 001 - 3203 Mike.zip, so in other words its BattleID battlenumber (if lower than 100, then add 0s) - PIN nickname.zip. Anyone using this (DarkEagle already does) will get cookie from TAC.

Tactical Office Person of the Week:
This week I've selected Linoge, as Person of the Week. As recommended by TCC:XvT:
I nominated this week Linogue for POTM, he did the most work this week and since his membership in TAC Office I'm very pleased with his work and beta-reports. Keep this up  ! :-)
Great job Linoge. You have earned 1 point. I remind all TCCs to send their PotW recomendations. So current standings look as follows:
  • Frey - 2
  • TK-9121 - 1
  • Hunter - 1
  • Abel Malik - 3
  • Darth Vader - 1
  • Philo - 1
  • Styles - 1
  • Linoge - 2
I adjusted rules of competition. Potw will be getting 2pts, while all people nominated by TCCs will get 1 pt.

Cheating cases:
This week I've sent 1 person to HCI. And currently my CA is investigating two other cases, and he should come up with results very soon. I am happy that cheating rate became very low since I took TAC.

Final word:
My office is always open. I don't do any businnes on IRC, but I ALWAYS reply to questions and suggestions. What do I mean by EH bussiness. Here's example: "Mike, please award me my mission MoT-rh", and other things like that.
If you have question and I am not available, try joining #tac and ask there or use mail. Ultimately you can use Mission Creation Forum :)
