TAC Report # 100 (2003-08-03)

Introduction
     Hello Emperor's Hammer. We have celebration today
     Today we celebrate 100th Tactical Office report, and I am honored to be the one who wrote it. Using this ocasion, I will show the fleet some achievements of Tactical Office during those last 100 reports. So now let's hear some history and bragging
     1st Tactical Office report was written by HA Striker (FA then) on 9/16/2000. It was just after resignation of HA Kawolski and his appointment as Executive Officer. Office was young back then, and I say, pretty savage. Battles were waiting in queue for years, they were being released with bugs and problem. Striker started to change it. Unfortunately, after 3 months as TAC he got MIA, because of car accident he had. There was no TAC and FA Starlion has been appointed. SL decided not to continue line of Tactical report. During that passage of time I've been moving through levels of Tactical Office. I've became TCT and later TCC.
     When HA Striker returned and took over TAC after Starlion's resignation, I have been TCC, but quickly I became TCHC and Striker's right hand. I have started working on TIE and quikcly my team was deadly. We have processed all pending battles and my office was working without any delays.

     Another part of my career started when I have been appointed as Command Attaché to Tactical Office. I had new goal, to be next Tactical Officer. And I was going to do everything I can to achieve that goal. Together with Stiker we have started improving our office. First we have performed two correction projected and removed all bugs from mission compendium. Then, VA Grail has made Tactical database. New era of Tactical Office started.
     Thanks to my work as CA:TAC, I have been awarded with GoE and promoted to the rank of Admiral.

     HA Striker resigned after long time as TAC and it was great loss to Tactical Office. Even though I have been doing all work, his ideas were always priceless. I wrote my first report as TAC on 11/5/2002 (63rd), and even though I have not been TAC officialy, I knew what I had to do. I have started working very hard and here's the short list of what I did:

  • Created XvT scoring table (classified stuff)
  • Updated XTMs to ver2.0
  • Started Tactical Office Competitions: #1-3
  • Xunami Wings competition (10 plotlines, 3 CABs, later ASF bases their comp on mine)
  • Started Mission Creation Wars (last round on now), biggest Tac competition ever seen
  • Processed 2000 HSs (2,4K now)
  • Achieved TAC3K (3000 missions online)
  • Introduced position of TCC:XW
  • Introduced new battletypes (BoP-ID and others, more coming soon)
  • Achieved mark of 3000 FCHG points as 2nd person in the history of EH
  • Achieved mark of 500 free missions online
  • Released 100th XWA-FREE and 10th XvT-DB
  • Organized 3 EH Poland Meetings with 3 EH MP competitions
Pretty impresive I say, but I still have a lot of work to do. And even though my time is limited, I will do everything I can to make EH better. So expect more from me soon :)

Releasing new battles on hold
     Project Shield requires holding release of all new battles. So there will be no new battles until further notice. Do not ask why, I won't tell.

Mission Creation Corner
     Again, special thanks to TCC:XvT for his tips :) Few more and you will get your cookie :)
         I suppose we could go with something simple today. One thing to keep in mind whenever your designing XvT or BOP missions is that the difference between the two is; when in BOP mode of the XvTED workshop your can create Mission Debriefing. This comes in two parts: Successful Mission Debriefing and Failed Mission Debriefing.
         Personally, I would recommend that you do this. This will help with the overall picture if your creating a battle. Might also help those flying it to by the fact that you could possibly throw in some pointers for the next mission, etc just an idea. Just note that if you do it make sure you spell and grammar check it :P

TCC:XW appointed
     We had a lot of XW submissions recently and XWM is being created by FA Ender mBind so I have decided to create the position of TCC:XW, and appointed Locke Setzer as TCC. Congrats.

Tactical Office Person of the Week:
         This week Locke Setzer is PotW, as recommended by TCC:XWA
         I nominate Locke Setzer (TCS-TCT) for POTW this week, he is one of my finest staff and life would be less fun without him.
