New Episode II: Attack of the Clones "Forbidden Love" Trailer: 11.16.01

"Tonight, fans will be afforded their third glimpse of Episode II footage, as the full teaser trailer for Attack of the Clones becomes available on starwars.com. The teaser trailer is also playing theatrically in front of screenings of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

This trailer deals with choosing between emotion and duty, obligation and desire. Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala are at a crucial juncture in their lives, each devoted to an institution of greater purpose -- for him, the Jedi order; for her, the Republic.

"In this one, we're really focusing on one of the major themes of the film -- the love story between Anakin and Padmé," says Lucasfilm's VP of Marketing, Jim Ward. "I think people will be able to see tthat it is a true love story set against a galaxy that's in turmoil. It's also set against the expectations that galaxy has of the roles and responsibilities of a Jedi and a Senator. Now these two are having to confront those realities while falling in love."

The full teaser trailer follows quickly on the heels of "Mystery" and "Breathing," two other previews of Episode II. Clocking in at over two minutes with new footage and new dialogue, the trailer represents the first real look at the Attack of the Clones story."

Fleet Admiral Chi Long resigns as GM, Vice Admiral Firefox Appointed as Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood

Greetings Gentlemen,

I email you today to announce that I will unfortunately be needing to step down from the position of Grand Master very soon. I have had a lot of fun as GM, and think I have impacted the DB in a positive way with some of the changes I have already made and the things I've done over my course as GM, as well as some of the "repair work" I did to try to bring new activity to the DB after the inactiveness of the last two GMs. The DB is now in decent shape again, and I'm very grateful I could be a major part of that. I would have liked to have instituted the new proposal I was working on, but if all goes well, I may well be able to assist with that process anyway.

The reason for this is unfortunately real life. The college program I am in has a very high dropout rate. As of now I am doing very well in my classes, but in the last week my workload has gotten even higher (I now
have major papers/projects due in each of my classes every 2 weeks). I simply cannot continue college, my kung fu, as well as being GM. I have to give something up, and that thing has to be GM. I still fully plan to remain in the DB and help with websites/graphics/anything I can. Actually.... I may even be able to finally get that new main EH site completed:)...

...In any case, I thank you for the time I've had as GM, and I hope you agree that I have positively influenced the DB. But I refuse to hang on till the bitter end, like the two before me, and I will not drag the DB back down to what it was when I took over as GM.

I intend to return to the HCI (provided Paladin will have me back... I would assume he will), and will remain an active member of both the DB and EH as a whole.

Grand Admiral Ronin and Sector Admiral Kawolski

I thought I would start by giving you a brief overview of what I have done in the EH so far and then explaining a few of my ideas.

I have been in the EH for over 4 1/2 years. In that time I slowly rose through the ranks from FM to BGCOM. My proudest achievement is the restoration of the SSD Avenger. I have been involved with the Dark Brotherhood's flagship for about 2 years now. In that time, we (my pilots and I) successfully turned the Avenger from a dying ship of 25 to an active ship of 120 people. We even managed to open the ISD Subjugator to pilot assignment and 30 people are now stationed on it. The Dark Brotherhood's fleet has never been better and its people are imaginative, active and ambitious. A couple of our former officers even became CS members.

I have also been a member of the Dark Brotherhood for close to 4 years. I have been involved at all levels of Dark Brotherhood leadership and I have been the Sith High Warrior for the past 18 months. I have influenced every DB wide competition in that time and most Clan level Sith competitions as well. I have done my best to make the Sith competitions fun for everyone. I am regularly consulted by Dark Council members, Clan Leaders and House members alike for advice.

I believe I am viewed as a fair and patient individual. I have been praised quite often for the quality of my work and the amount of thought that goes into it. My integrity and loyalty toward the members has never been put into question. I have proven that I can be a good team player and that I can also make the hard choices when necessary.

The Dark Brotherhood is not perfect. Like anything else, it has its problems. Acknowledging the existence of those problems is the first step toward fixing them. Activity is low. Some Clan leaders are unsure of what they are supposed to do. And there is much more. The Dark Brotherhood needs a vision of the future. A purpose other than just exist. It needs to become the ideal environment for members to enjoy themselves. I believe that to be content with what you have is the first step toward stagnation. The Dark Brotherhood can once again become the shining star that it once was. The new Jedi Knight game coming out next year will help revitalize the Obelisk if it is handled correctly. I believe that planning ahead for the release of the new games is an integral part of the future growth of the Dark Brotherhood.

I also have many competitions ideas for the Dark Brotherhood. This would increase member interest and participation. I have always believed that well planned competitions with plenty of events and a strong storyline tend to do just that. And it has been my personal experience as well.

I have also started working (as Sith High Warrior) with some Dark Council members on a few projects. The main one being about the creation of a group of 'competition helpers' who would be willing to help the Dark Council or the Clans to create competitions. One of the problems right now is that people have the ideas, but lack the manpower. Or vice versa. This group of people would be ideally suited to help. And it would also probably increase the quality of the competitions in the Dark Brotherhood as well.

Another collective project is about the creation of a strategic wargame (I have talked with the War Officer and some Dark Council members) that would basically keep the Dark Brotherhood's Clans in a state of constant warfare. The Clans would be able to attack the other Clans in wargames using the Dark Brotherhood's gaming platforms. This would be a semi-permanent competition that would evolve and grow depending on the interest and the implication of the Clans.

I have other ideas and I know that many Dark Brotherhood members have great ideas as well. I am sure that together we can make the Dark Brotherhood a better place for everyone.

I strongly believe that the lowest ranking members are the most important people. This belief has been the basis of most of what I have done in this club. Helping others has always been important to me and I think it encourages others to be helpful as well.

I could say a lot more, but I don't think filling page after page will be all that helpful. If you have any questions about my ideas, my experience, my motives, my views, or anything else, I would be happy to answer them.

Today, October 30, 2001, the New Jedi Order book, Star by Star was released. Although I was unable to buy it - yet - I did see the book, and I must say that it is a lot larger than other NJO books, with about 500 + pages. I think this maybe the turning point in the series. I would suggest to anyone following this series to go buy the book, but don't tell me what it's about! :)

New CA:FC Selected - Orin Williamson: 10.28.01

With a rousing endorsement from the BHG Dark Prince Trench, the Fleet Commander has selected ELT Orin Williamson as the new Fleet Commander's Attaché (CA:FC).

Sirs,

I write to wholeheartedly endorse Orin Williamson, who has informed me that he is applying for the position of CA:FC.

The two most prominent qualities that Orin possesses that come to mind instantly are loyalty and dedication. I know no more loyal EHer; Orin has (and this, I suppose, also expresses his second attribute, that of dedication) for years tirelessly labored without the expectation of reward to improve his Kabal and the BHG as much as possible.

He would, I am sure, be faithful beyond belief -- I would again emphasize that I cannot think of anyone better in this respect -- while still thinking independently to devise new initiatives and see them through to completion.

I was upset that Orin informed me that he had to leave active service in the BHG. When I found out that he wished to return to the EH I was overjoyed. I only wish he chose to dedicate his services to me and not to you. It is clear that he is looking for a new and perhaps greater challenge. He will not fail anyone; I know this because Orin is the type of person who would not permit himself to fail at anything.

Legendary coach Vince Lombardi once said of Eagles wideout Tommy McDonald that "if I had eleven Tommy McDonalds, I'd win the championship every year." Sirs, if the EH had a couple of thousand Orin
Williamsons, it would be in damn good shape indeed.
