This report was submitted by FA Striker

Welcome to another edition of the famous Tactical Reports with plenty of news and grammar mistakes >:) !

1. FCHG Mission Creation Contest #2 Results

Happy Birthday Emperor's Hammer, and here are some new FCHG Battles for your glory ! The second edition of the FCHG Mission Creation Contest is now over, with the results hereby released; the winning submissions which become new official FCHG Battles are:

Thanks to these who took the time to enter the competition, the winning submissions are once more of greater quality. The only disappointement is the low participation compared to the first edition, though more time was given and more advertisement was made. I guess December is not an as good as time for activty than during summer, but I can't change the date of the EH's Birthday ;) The next edition will take place during July, results to be released for the FC's Birthday. Rating of the submissions was made prior any correction, TIE and XWA submissions were reviewed and corrected by TAC/FA Striker, XvT ones by CA:TAC/VA Marcin Szydlowski, and no tug was harmed during the testing. See you next summer for the third edition of the competition !

2. Command Attaché promoted to Vice Admiral

My Command Attaché Marcin Szydlowski has been promoted to Vice Admiral for his excellent work over the past months. Keep up the good job Mike, and watch your tongue on IRC....>:)

3. New battles and free missions

In addition to the FCHG Battles some free missions have been finally released. The Compendium stands at 2,055 missions online. No I am not looking for TAC3K, not until 2003...

4. Competitions and cross-platform judging

During the last ECR Competition organized in the TC Battlegroups, VA Mell has tested a scoring method we designed in order to judge a flying competition over multiple platform. This large scale test over a whole battlegroup being a success, here is a little description of it. The idea is rather simple, the scores obtained on a game platform are simply divided by the high score on this particular mission or battle (the high score can be eithe raken from the battle board at the deadline of the competition, or be taken as the high score realized during the competition if the number of pilots is enough). Then the ratio can be compared.

For example, let's a XWA squadron challenges a TIE squadron. The total score of the XWA Squadron is 150,000 points for 6 pilots, the total score of the TIE squadron is 600,000 points for 6 pilots. With this, you can't compare much except the participation rate. Let's say the competition is judged on the average score per pilot of the squadron; the average of the XWA squadron is 25,000, the one of the TIE squadron is 100,000. Can't do much with it either. Now let's divide by the high-scores of the Battle Board, which are 40,000 for the XWA Battle and 150,000 for the TIE Battle. The XWA Squadron has then scored, averaged other its pilots, 62.5% of the high score, while the TIE Squadron has scored 66.6% of the high score. The TIE Squadron wins the competition. Simple enough ? for any question, feel free to email me or Vice Admiral Mell.

5. New TCC:TIE sought

Send your applications to VA Marcin Szydlowski and myself, check out the job description in the Tactical Manual first, include any reference to TAC related work.

6. Farewell to a friend

Sector Admiral Kawolski has retired from his position of Executive Officer, after years of great service in the Emperor's Hammer. I would like to take the opportunity to come back on the great achievements he has done through the years. We will never forget what he brought to the TIE Corps, to the Tactical Office, and to the Emperor's Hammer as a whole.
First to the TIE Corps, his influence on the fleet is still present, mainly through the TIE Corps database which has been an incredible tool of development for every aspect of the pilots' lives. I do remember from the very first days of his tenure as FO and of the wind of changes he brought (well, maybe because my appointement as Tornado CMDR must have one of the very first promotions he had to process as well ;)), the new rank system he put in place, the regulations and structures the fleet needed, the implementation of a database to manage the rosters, then more and more of the duties of every single officer of the fleet. He brought to the fleet the tools it needed, the tools who made easier our duties. but he didn't only give the TIE Corps tools, he gave it a spirit, and has been a great leader as Flight Officer; someone dedicated to the pilots, someone you could count on, whichever was your position.
A few months after he left the Flight Office, I had the great opportunity to work with him in the Tactical Office. A little more than a month after I left Wing X and the TIE Corps to come to the "rescue" of Fleet Admiral Dev - at that time Tactical Officer - as his CA, Sector Admiral Kawolski took commands of the Office and kept me as Command Attaché. I have spent more than a year under his direct command, and it was one of my most enjoyable time in my career, and he was a real example of what a Command Staff member should be, an example I have always tried to follow. It has been a great honor to assist him in the revival of the Tactical Office. He brought to this vital office as many changes as he had brought to the TIE Corps, and I have seen all I was dreaming about the office coming true, months after months.
Later, Sector Admiral Kawolski was appointed Executive Officer, and then again brought decisive changes; a small renoval of our newsletters, issued on a regular basis, and major gifts to some subgroups through the EH Database, a project which unfortunately won't come to an end; anyway, it was once again a great achievement.
We now say farewell to the greatest Command Officer the Emperor's Hammer has known, either as FO or TAC or XO. It always comes a time where things must move along, today comes yours to retire from a club you have given so much of your time and efforts. We say farewell to an exceptional officer, to a great man, to a friend. Farewell, do not forget to come and give an hello from time to time. Farewell my friend...

And let's rename one of our Star Destroyer to ISD Kawolski !!!!!!!
