As mentioned above, a new course, based upon the AOL Instant Messenger application, has been released. The course is available at http://www.imperialacademy.org/aim/ It has already hit 100 graduates, so congratulations to the course professor, Darknyte, for that. Other courses continue to see a steady input of graduates. Also, the XvT Tactics Professor, LC Tarkin, is on leave until 7th. A big thanks to the XO and FO for enabling the addition of the PROF tag in the ID lines of the IWATS staff too.
The poll now has nearly 100 votes. The current front running option is Natalie Portman, with a cookie and naming a TUG after me as equal second. Following in third is renaming the Sov after me, a medal, then a pat on the back. Last with zero votes is giving me money. Funny that. :P In more general site stuff, I did some cleaning up and also fixed a nasty bug in the competitions section of the site that truncated some fields of the competitions form.
The Daedalus Motto Competition results have been finalised and the winners awarded. The results are available on the competition's website (http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/daedalusmotto/). I've picked most of the winners for the Shameless Promotion Competition (http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/shamelesspromotion/) and just need to get off my lazy backside and award the medals and stuff like that. Following on from the Motto Competition is the Daedalus Banner Competition. The winning submission will be used in the cadet mailing that will be starting (as soon as there's a pretty banner), as well as to replace the old banner on the TC site. Details are available at http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/daedalusbanner/ Lastly in competitions, there's a big one being planned. Very big. Huge. Currently, it's been targetted at TC, IW and BHG members, but I'll be talking to other SGCOMs about targetted participation for their members very soon (it'll be open to all members of the EH, regardless). Keep an eye out for future massive hype and promotional materials :P
EH Ladder code is progressing in an okay fashion. I'm now onto the reporting code, which is the only real ugly bit of code left (apart from the message board). The rest should flow pretty easily after that. This new EH Ladder will hopefully be totally bug free and run all year in 2-month seasons. The code I'm writing is very modular so I'll be able to adapt it pretty easily to other...things.
