Tactical Officer's Opening Statement
I repeat yet again my previous statement that a slow week in the Tactical Office simply doesn't exist. At least 5 battle submissions this week, quite a few corrections, quite a bit of work.
Master and I collectively corrected 11 bugs again. It seems to be our lucky weekly number :P. Operation Ant Eater continues at full spread, sadly we thought we'd be done XvT and XWA right now but I still have the XvT TCs to fix and theres a few stray XWA ones lying around for my pleasant CA to handle. Shouldn't be too long now.
There seems to be an epidemic when it comes to submitting battles. Yes, I know the TAC manual says to send them straight to me, and of course you can go right ahead and do that as long as its written in the TAC manual. However I'd like to remind everybody that we have a nice alternate way, the CBSF for available here. I'm confident you'll be able to figure out the rest. ;)
Its officially too late to sign up for the Iron Mission Creator Competition. I now have 8 participants, the first match will be tomorow afternoon between VA Gidda and FA Den Darkhill. The entire schedual is on the site.
The Mission Creation Incentive concluded this week! The final month was by far the most impressive, I saw a great showing for battles, and a nice one for missions. Without further adue, congradulations to a SHARED first place between LC Ric Taldrya (3 battles) and VA Gidda (3 battles) for the battles division, and a sweep by RA Locke Setzer for missions. Medals are recommended!
Tactical Announcements
-XvT TC 109 and XvT Free 180 were released this week!
-Operation Ant Eater continues! 11 bugs corrected this week. No more XvT DB, CAB or FCHG bugs remain!
-There are currently NO TAC STAFF OPENINGS.
-The IRON MISSION CREATOR competiton begins tomorow! you can only sign up as a spare by e-mailing me directly.
Tactical Projects
-Operation Ant Eater: This is a lot like Project phoenix, the TAC staff will set out to destroy all bugs in the Mission Compendium! We now have some progress, more details here.
-Frodo's Quest for More Missions: This is my own personal quest to get mission creators to create more, I used quite a few means, mainly by competition and by posting news items that could help people start creating missions. We have alot of custom made battles and missions on the TACDB and they're swarming in. BUILD MORE!
Tactical Tasks
-More missions and faster turnaround in relation to testing: Testings is going according to plan, we have over 30 assignements strong, so naturally we can't expect top speed, but we're doing the best we can. I reassigned everything last week, we'll see how it works out.
-More support relating to new platforms (Jedi outcast academy, SWGB): SWGB now has 2 active Tacticians and many, many testers, we are ready to deal with SWGB bugs and the number of battles on the compendium has increased drastically. If anybody would like to be JA staff, please contact me as soon as possible.
-Coordinating with training office to set up new training resources for new platforms: The SWGB course is there. Gimme some time on this JA stuff.
-Restart Project Pheonix and fix any bugs in the mission compendium: Operation "ant-eater" is...yes, still under way!
Competitions
-Mission Creation Incentive: OVER The pilot who submits the most battles to the TAC office in the month of January will be awarded an IS-PR, an IS-GR for second place and the same goes for February and March. You must submit at least 3 battles, and the same goes with missions, except the award for top missions is IS-GR and you must build at least 5.
-Iron Mission Creator: Every week end there will be matches between mission creators to see which can build the best free mission for a designated plotline within 2 hours! More details here.
-Pilot of the Week Competition: The pilot of the week this week is RA Locke Setzer for outstanding help with Operation Anteater and actually making some X-wing! Standings for March are: Aft 1, Ric 1, Malik 1, Locke 1. Its so hard to chose!
