Tactical Officer's Opening Statement
Another active week from the Tactical Office! I'm happy to say that Operation Anteater continues at full speed on ALL three platfroms. Special mention to RA Locke who is helping me with the TIE files. Excellent.
This week 3 battles and 3 free missions were released and 11 bugs were corrected. Progress continues.
I've gotten a few BSF problems, mostly just putting in the wrong number, remember that before you try again for BSFing a file, uncheck the 'no high scores' box. More information can be found in my BSF tutorial, which you can find in the important links section of this very report.
Major announcement, I am no longer seeking applicants for the position of Tactical Mission Designer. After talking it over with the Fleet Commander he's agreed to let me discontinue the project due to various reasons, namely for lack of experienced mission creators applying and also because I have a firm belief that Mission Designers all over the EH want to be creative with their own ideas and work for themselves. I'd like to thank everybody who applied, and to remind everybody with mission creation knowledge that they can always check out the plotline compendium for plotlines to build missions for.
This week I started a new competition that is part of my quest for more missions. The IRON MISSION CREATOR competition which begins Next week end. You have until April 1st to sign up!
Tactical Announcements
-XWA TC 46, TIE TC 222, TIE Free 250, SWGB-DIR 2, SWGB Free 1 and SWGB Free 2 were released this week!
-Operation Ant Eater continues! 11 bugs corrected this week. No more XvT IW Bugs!
-There are currently NO TAC STAFF OPENINGS. -TAC DB 1 Only has 2 battles left on it.
-Welcome LCM Muskrat to the TAC Staff!
-TMD project has been halted!
-The IRON MISSION CREATOR competiton will begin soon! Sign up people!
Tactical Projects
-Operation Ant Eater: This is a lot like Project phoenix, the TAC staff will set out to destroy all bugs in the Mission Compendium! We now have some progress, more details here.
-Frodo's Quest for More Missions: This is my own personal quest to get mission creators to create more, mission creation is up...but I'm still making another competition to start on April 1st! We need more battles and missions! Build!
Tactical Tasks
-More missions and faster turnaround in relation to testing: Testings is getting quicker and quicker. I will be reviewing all late assignements tomorow. I will fire the lazy testers, and reassign everything thats been taking far too long.
-More support relating to new platforms (Jedi outcast academy, SWGB): SWGB now has 2 active Tacticians and many, many testers, we are ready to deal with SWGB bugs and the number of battles on the compendium has increased drastically. If anybody would like to be JA staff, please contact me as soon as possible.
-Coordinating with training office to set up new training resources for new platforms: The SWGB course is there. I will talk to the TO about JA now.
-Restart Project Pheonix and fix any bugs in the mission compendium: Operation "ant-eater" is...still under way!
-Reform the TAC staff from a corps of testers to mission creators: This is the last week this task will be listed. It is now over. Applications for TMD are no longer taken.
Competitions
-Mission Creation Incentive: The pilot who submits the most battles to the TAC office in the month of January will be awarded an IS-PR, an IS-GR for second place and the same goes for February and March. You must submit at least 3 battles, and the same goes with missions, except the award for top missions is IS-GR and you must build at least 5.
We have somebody in first place for battles and missions. There is still a week left for more submissions, then we shall halt this competition and Iron Mission Creator will begin!
-Iron Mission Creator: Every week end there will be matches between mission creators to see which can build the best free mission for a designated plotline within 2 hours! More details here.
-Pilot of the Week Competition: The pilot of the week this week is RA Locke Setzer for outstanding help with Operation Anteater and actually making some X-wing! Standings for March are: Aft 1, Ric 1, Malik 1, Locke 1. Its so hard to chose!
