Tactical Officer's Opening Statement
Another week has gone by, and some more progress has come. As usual, a quiet week doesn't exist with the Tactical Office. I've received many cases from alot of people with alot of particularity...I suggest that pilots and flags read the Tactical manual at least once or twice in their careers. The link is pasted all over these TAC reports. Even the old TAC Manual can be good for certain problems you may encounter. Remember, being ignorant isn't an excuse for anything.
Also we've done a bit of proggress with Ant Eater this week, XvT TC 1 was updated, and BoP is near completion.
While I'm on the topic of bugs I'd like to address a perticular situation. We have a bug killing project, and a bug report form on the database for a reason guys. That reason is so that you can stop e-mailing me about bugs, and stop contacting me on IRC about bugs. If you've done this recently you will notice that what I've told you is probably along the lines of "post a bug report". So, why not save time and post it yourself? :P All bug reports are investigated for Operation Ant eater as soon as possible. I won't do it faster if I get PMed.
Also, Patch problems do not count, if there is a problem with a patch I can't do anything about it. I delete those bug reports because usually patch problems are simply a case of not being able to read the readme. I want you guys to put thought into bug reports, I remember one from this week that said "I had problems with the Spectar Advanced Missile boat patch, and btw, in mission 4 I couldn't disable the platform because no craft had ion cannons". If you can make the connection here ladies and gentlemen, if you can't run the SMIS patch, the SMIS you're flying is a MIS, and therefore has no Ion cannons...Just an example, this wasn't a bug at all, luckily I was able to spot this right away and delete it, but some bug reports like this aren't very fun. So if you do get a patch problem, read the readme, or go to the tech forum.

Tactical Projects
-Operation Ant Eater:This is a lot like Project phoenix, the TAC staff will set out to destroy all bugs in the Mission Compendium! We now have some progress, more details here.
-Frodo's Quest for More Missions:This is my own personal quest to get mission creators to create more, We have gotten quite a few submittions. Nothing has been submitted to date in February >:/
Tactical Tasks
-More missions and faster turnaround in relation to testing: My quest for more missions is still under way. With the removal of TCCs and their final checks, we should be able to be quicker about this whole thing.
-More support relating to new platforms (Jedi outcast academy, SWGB): We have a few SWGB battles in progress, anybody interested in JA, or JO or SWGB can contact myself right away. Support is important and we need some competent staff for these new platforms. Anybody interested in a Mission Creation course for these platforms can contact me immediately and I'll make sure you get all the support you need to get me my support.
-Coordinating with training office to set up new training resources for new platforms: Still no TO, feel free to check the TAC Network for some training ressources, IWATS courses are also available, I believe I'll also make something to help about this.
-Restart Project Pheonix and fix any bugs in the mission compendium: Operation "ant-eater" is under way!
-Reform the TAC staff from a corps of testers to mission creators: Only three people are actually on the list to become TMDs. I am Accepting applications for TMD. I also removed TCCs which is sort of a reform.
Competitions
-Mission Creation Incentive: The pilot who submits the most battles to the TAC office in the month of January will be awarded an IS-PR, an IS-GR for second place and the same goes for February and March. You must submit at least 3 battles, and the same goes with missions, except the award for top missions is IS-GR and you must build at least 5. February has just begun, gooo!
-Pilot of the Week Competition: The pilot of the week this week is COL Abel Malik, for some constant and excellent testing, as usual. The scores are: Ender: 1, Malik: 1.

Frothy's Corner
Correction from last week, we only have 3,449 missions on the compendium, I forgot that I had to remove a mission because there was a mistake ont he compendium. (The mission didn't exist). Overall a good week in the Tactical office, things are looking up for testing speed since we have no more middle man. Things aren't looking good if you're a bug though...hehehe, they're going to be destroyed :) Have a great day!
