FLEET NEWS
 
-Here's an important message to all CMDRs from Alex Foley regarding medals:
 
I haven't ever really spoken out about this, but in medal denials, so I'll go on official record with a few points on required items in medal recommendations and other general issues I've noticed lately:
  • All MSE medals MUST include quantatative data, such as battles completed, multiplayer activity, IWATS completed, communications activity, and medals awarded to the pilot in that month.
  • I will no longer approve a MSE medal if it doesn't include the medals awarded to the pilot that month and at least the general purpose of that medal being awarded. I want to cut down on double-awarding. Please note that what I'm specificially looking for are competition medals, web design medals, and things along those lines.
  • Competition numbers must be included with every Iron Star medal recommendations. There are no excepetions to this rule.
  • No merit medal may be awarded for any competition.
  • Commendations of Bravery are to be awarded immediately after a pilot completes 30 missions. Any pilot who does so may request their CMDR to award this medal. This is not out of line, it's just making your CMDR aware that you have completed the required number of missions.

So, the ideal medal recommendation would look something like this:

CM Forrest Gump has been a great commander. He flew many battles this month as well as took many IWATS. Unfortunately, he has to step down as commander due to RL in the next week or so. For all his activity and for his work as commander, Forrest deserves a Bronze Star!

Another stellar month from one of our best CMDRs. He accumulated 476 points in Top Dawg and that is a great acheivment in itself. He maintains all his regular CMDR duties in a timely manner and is one of our best. Run Forrest Run!

-IMPSTORM STATUS: There have been no battles so far. Right now, the Sov team holds 1 planet, the ATF teams holds another one, the ASF holds one too, while the TCBG holds 3 planets.
 
-The Star Wars Trilogy DVD is out! If you're a real SW fan, go buy it! (like I did)
 
-Star Wars Battlefront, LucasArts latest game, is also out. Basically, it's Battlefield 1942 but Star Wars all over. Opinions on the game are pretty much divided, so I suggest you research, read some reviews and opinions, and think very carefully before buying it.
 
SHIP NEWS
 
-CM Andrelious J. Inahj was considered TCBG Pilot of the Month for August, and he also received a Silver Star :)
 
-Sadly, we lost some pilots recently. CM Rokin transferred to reserves, CM Ernest Penfold was declared MIA, and MAJ Daniel Klivian was invited to the elite Avenger Squadron.
 
-However, we welcomed two new pilots. CPT Darky has joined Nu Squadron, and CM Trowa has joined Omicron Squadron :)
 
-Two of our pilots have been promoted to the rank of LCM. They are LCM Rinuchu Stealth and LCM Giovanni Palermo. You two are very good pilots, I earned these ranks.
 
-VA Gunman and CM Kadon Beir were the only Colossus pilots to finish the Sovereign Summer Patrol. They both therefore received an IS-GW.
 
-After some RL problems, MAJ Curtis is back in action.
 
-Ship Doctor: We now have an official ship doctor, and he's CM Miackus. This means that'll continue to contribute has he has been doing to the ship's moral, but also that you may talk to him if you have any problem that can't be discussed with me and Curtis, or anything at a more psychological level. His office is always open, so feel free to contact him.
