-=Avenger News=- .

  • LC Thom Zack is back from his LoA, Welcome back Zack.
  • As one Wing Commander comes back from leave one takes a LoA, WC MAJ Jaron Kai will be back on Monday.
  • Website is (slowly) being updated, here or here
  • Our ship is at 78 members! woop, lets see if we can make 80 soon :D
  • Operation Falcon Claw participation is up, yay you guys, just one thing i think i need to outline, Please Only ONE mission request at a time.
  • Trapper Squadron, XIX, new commander is MAJ Pelleon who comes from the Avenger Elite Squadron (woo).
  • Activity is good, but as i stated in the last report, please get as many people doing different activities. I will be starting more competitions in the coming week.
  • I'm putting together a Recuitment Brocure, so we can send it to new recruits, pretty simple but i hope it will work :D
  • I like to see the e-mails with Competition Proccessed in the title, it is my belief that competitions promote activity aswell as providing fun (and deserving) ways to win medals.

-=Wing Competitions=-

  • Wing XVIII

A Narrow Victory (competition ID #660) - Last month's victory in BJ was narrow for Wing XVIII, a little too narrow... Working alone, or in pairs, the pilots of Wing XVIII will create a battle suitable for submission to the Compendium on the platform of their choice, playing out the events of that narrow victory. There will be three divisions, one for each platform, and winners will be chosen from each division. The battle must be at least 4 missions long, with no maximum length. Each mission will be graded invidiually and awarded up to 10 points for style, lack of bugs, playability, fun, creativity, etc. In addition, up to 5 bonus points may be added for a highly cohesive story, demonstrated through some sort of background story and the course of the missions. Non-working missions recieve no points, and it is better to have 4 high quality missions than 8 mediocre ones.

Start Date (mm/dd/yy) - 6/23/2003
End Date (mm/dd/yy) - 7/23/2003
Parties Involved - Members of Wing XVIII
Missions/Battles Used - N/A
Medals to be Awarded - 3 x IS-SR, 3 x IS-BR

Tribbles Tribbles Everywhere! (competition ID #657) - The highly eccentric new Wing XVIII Commander has declared that all members of her wing must now carry a lucky tribble with them everywhere. This poses a slight problem for the pilots, especially since the squirmy little things want nothing more than to escape. Any pilot caught without a tribble is subject to be beaten and assigned a particularly nasty Toothy Tribble. Create a story about a time your tribble got away, and a graphic showing the "tribble-holder" or other hands free method you choose to keep that moving cotton ball on your person at all times. The best fiction and graphic will earn an IS-SR, second place will earn IS-BRs. The fiction and graphic are submitted seperately, so the winning entries do not have to come from the same pilot.

Start Date (mm/dd/yy) - 6/23/2003
End Date (mm/dd/yy) - 8/7/2003
Parties Involved - Members of Wing XVIII, excluding the Wing Commander
Missions/Battles Used - N/A

XVIII: Top Gun Competition (June) (competition ID #679) - http://www.minos.net/~anthol/xviii/XVIII%20-%20Top%20Gun%20Comp.htm - (Most of the following taken from the Web Site for this Comp) Rules Its simple really you fly (both Single Player and Multiplayer), do IWATS or write fiction. I know what your thinking, its similiar to the BGCOM's Judgement but its not, this is for Squadron Glory. Each pilot does all of the above activities and send they relevant files to myself. I will count up the points and at the end of every month, announce the XVIII: Top Gun, XVIII: Ace and the XVIII: Squadron of the Month. ---- If you get the most points you are - XVIII: Top Gun - this entitiles you to show off to everyone and can also be used for historical reasons. Aswell as this you recieve a IS SW. If you get the second most points you are - XVIII: Ace - this entitles you to show that your the second best pilot in the wing and make sure everyone knows you'll be Top Gun next month. Aswell as this you recieve a IS BW --- And so we come to XVIII: Squadron of the Month (SoTM) - I will count the collective effort of all pilots and bundle it into a squadron package, and so if your squadron receives XVIII: Squadron of the Month (SoTM) you have ultimate bragging rights over all other squadrons, it will also become part of your squadrons history. (Note to Commanders - If your squadron recieves SoTM 5 times in a row you recieve a ISM for this effort but restarts after the 5 months are over) Points Flying - 1 point per mission IWATS - 5 points per course Multi Player Flying - 1 point per match, win or loose (screenshot needed) Fiction - 1-10 points (must be Star Wars/Tie Corps related)

Start Date (mm/dd/yy) - 7/1/2003
End Date (mm/dd/yy) - 7/31/2003
Parties Involved - Wing XVIII
Missions/Battles Used - Any from TIE Corps Battle Centre
Medals to be Awarded - IS SW - XVIII Top Gun IS BW - XVIII Top Ace

Wing XIX is being dispatched to protect and escort the Flight Officer's Cruiser to where the Avenger is docked. One of the Avenger's escort Victory Star Destroyers will be sent to assist XIX with the Interdictor and any capital ships. ------- The fiction can be as long..or short as you like, and it will be judged by myself, and another judge.

-=Ending Comments=-

Our ship is one of activity, fun and comraderery (i think thats the spelling ;)). I am extremely proud of all of you and wish to see this amount of everything keep up. I think the best thing we can improve on is Message Board communication but although this is not so vital i'd still like to see more of us posting. Again i want your ideas about what the ship needs in terms of recruiting and promotion, and to end thanks for a great week.
