--------------------------------- The Avenger jumped into the outer orbit of the Kuat system, "Sir" the young communication officer said "We're being hailed on a secure transmission, shall i redirect to your quaters?" "That won't be nessacery Lieutenant, patch me to the holonet receiver". The officer did as order and the base commanders face flickered on the blue screen, "Ah, Rear Admiral Anthol, we've been expecting you, the supplies you requested are en route is there anything else you request?" The officers voice lingered in every part of the large bridge. "Yes commander there is, please send one Frigate with room for 144 pilots and another freighter with the latest holomovies on board, i shall be arriving shortly in my shuttle, please prepare Hanger 21 on Shipyard A1D for the "delivary" of my weary pilots." Anthols couldn't but smile at the small eruption of whispers around the bridged when the R & R had been mention, he'd address the ship in a moment but he had one more thing to ask the commander. "Commander, does the casino open today?" he enquired, "Of course Rear Admiral, we look forward to seeing you", the commanders face dissapeared and Anthol turned and marched towards his seat. ------------------------------- -=SALUTE=- -=Avenger News=-

A Narrow Victory (competition ID #660) - Last month's victory in BJ was narrow for Wing XVIII, a little too narrow... Working alone, or in pairs, the pilots of Wing XVIII will create a battle suitable for submission to the Compendium on the platform of their choice, playing out the events of that narrow victory. There will be three divisions, one for each platform, and winners will be chosen from each division. The battle must be at least 4 missions long, with no maximum length. Each mission will be graded invidiually and awarded up to 10 points for style, lack of bugs, playability, fun, creativity, etc. In addition, up to 5 bonus points may be added for a highly cohesive story, demonstrated through some sort of background story and the course of the missions. Non-working missions recieve no points, and it is better to have 4 high quality missions than 8 mediocre ones. Start
Date (mm/dd/yy) - 6/23/2003 Tribbles Tribbles Everywhere! (competition ID #657) - The highly eccentric new Wing XVIII Commander has declared that all members of her wing must now carry a lucky tribble with them everywhere. This poses a slight problem for the pilots, especially since the squirmy little things want nothing more than to escape. Any pilot caught without a tribble is subject to be beaten and assigned a particularly nasty Toothy Tribble. Create a story about a time your tribble got away, and a graphic showing the "tribble-holder" or other hands free method you choose to keep that moving cotton ball on your person at all times. The best fiction and graphic will earn an IS-SR, second place will earn IS-BRs. The fiction and graphic are submitted seperately, so the winning entries do not have to come from the same pilot. Start

Only XVIII: Top Gun Competition (June) (competition ID #601) - http://www.minos.net/~anthol/xviii/XVIII%20-%20Top%20Gun%20Comp.htm - (Most of the following taken from the Web Site for this Comp) Rules Its simple really you fly (both Single Player and Multiplayer), do IWATS or write fiction. I know what your thinking, its similiar to the BGCOM's Judgement but its not, this is for Squadron Glory. Each pilot does all of the above activities and send they relevant files to myself. I will count up the points and at the end of every month, announce the XVIII: Top Gun, XVIII: Ace and the XVIII: Squadron of the Month. ---- If you get the most points you are - XVIII: Top Gun - this entitiles you to show off to everyone and can also be used for historical reasons. Aswell as this you recieve a IS SW. If you get the second most points you are - XVIII: Ace - this entitles you to show that your the second best pilot in the wing and make sure everyone knows you'll be Top Gun next month. Aswell as this you recieve a IS BW --- And so we come to XVIII: Squadron of the Month (SoTM) - I will count the collective effort of all pilots and bundle it into a squadron package, and so if your squadron receives XVIII: Squadron of the Month (SoTM) you have ultimate bragging rights over all other squadrons, it will also become part of your squadrons history. (Note to Commanders - If your squadron recieves SoTM 5 times in a row you recieve a ISM for this effort but restarts after the 5 months are over) Points Flying - 1 point per mission IWATS - 5 points per course Multi Player Flying - 1 point per match, win or loose (screenshot needed) Fiction - 1-10 points (must be Star Wars/Tie Corps related) Start
