ISD Colossus Ship Report #4 (15 MAR 02)

From the desk of the Commodore:

Greetings all. Hmm...where to start. I guess it sufficient to say that you may or may not have noticed I haven't been on IRC. Well there is good reason for this. My new computer for some reason doesn't like the bloody IRC program. So for this I will have to resort to the old fashioned way of contact, as many of you may remember the days long before IRC there was just simply E-mail. Well that it what I'm down to, and believe me when I say that my e-mail works just fine.

So if your worried that I'm not around then don't be cuz I am. Its just that you'll have to send me an e-mail to ask me a question or whatever the case maybe. Sadly enough that I haven't been around, but I see that many others haven't been as well. The lack of activity is stunning in comparison to the fact that we were 2 times awarded the TCCOM's award for Colossus activity. I fear that this may get worse as here in the US spring break is upon us.

Well I guess in every ships time stuff like this comes into play. So we'll just have to take it in stride and go with the flow of things for now. As you might have noticed the last time I reported, I mentioned the Colossus Elite 12 was gonna start up again. Well unless activity picks up, then that will be on the back burner again. Regards.
The Website:

I have a few ideas I've been working on, I'll keep ya posted as to the new stuff when its available

The Colossus Awards:

The Colossus Awards will be selected for the month of March when the time comes. Remember these usually earn medal rewards. So if your looking for an easy medal from this, well you've got another thing comin. Those who are selected will be pooled and the winners will be posted on the website. But also remember just because your elected as a nominee for the below categories doesn't necessarily mean you'll get it, but if an overall vote goes for you then, well you get the picture. So you best work hard if you want it because you still have two and a half weeks left before the polling begins :)
  1. March
    1. COM's Escort: TBA
    2. WC's Own: TBA
    3. Services to Literature: TBA
    4. Services to Art: TBA
    5. Tactical Mind Award: TBA
    6. Web Masters Award: TBA
Again sorry for the delay of these but I've been alittle out the picture because of the operating level of my computer. But rest assured they will continue on again, now that I'm almost back in full swing.
The Colossus Competition Compendium:

I would like to announce that ISDCA #5 is right around the corner so go get your fighters warmed up and ready for action. I will post detail below when we're ready.
  1. Competition: ISDCA #5 (Coming Soon!)
    1. Start/End Date: TBA Midnight CST
    2. Mission to Fly: TBA
    3. Who's flying?: All Colossus Pilots
    4. Comp Details: ISD Colossus Ace Comp #5. All pilots are slotted to fly including the COM. The Top Gun will receive the IS-SW and the second place pilot will receive the IS-BW.
    5. Extra Info: Not yet submitted for approval
The Colossus War Room:

No following info, however I have a line on a couple of Ships to have talks with, so we'll have to wait and see. I want to know if anyone has a problem with flying XvT missions?
Squadron Activity:

Well as I already stated, activity is on the decline. However, with a recent bit of command level changes and the persistent activity of a few the Colossus has managed to maintain a small activity level. Upset? No not at all, as it happens. I will say I'm happy to see that some of the CMDR's are getting back into the swing of things and creating a decent bit of stuff for their squads to do. Lets keep it up.

I also know that our WC has several comps going on, so lets not miss out on those. Remember those who show potential are greatly rewarded, and if you want to be rewarded, then you should show your CMDR's that you want it, otherwise, we'll just make you all a bunch of door mats :P

Suffice it to say that Nu, Omicron and PI have shown a good bit of flying activity, Iota has got the coverage on the e-mail and egroups conversation portion, then there seems to be the faltering Eta, and Mu. Which is really weird since these two used to be top squadrons onboard. Hmm..
Promotions:

I would like to formally congratulate all those who have recently got promoted.
  • LCM Fulcrum
  • LCM Ardeth Mordor
  • CPT Saadam
  • LT Handril Madon
I'm glad to see that a lack of activity hasn't kept these pilots from attaining a good standing and getting that well deserved promotion. Congrats again guys!
In Closing:

Overall I have to say that I'm finally getting re-organized. I would like to see some more activity, even if its just a small note over the egroups. unfortunately I won't be on IRC to have a conversation with you or attend the weekly Sunday meetings :( as much as I'd like to. So for those who care, you'll have to be satisfied with knowing that I'm still here even if I'm not on IRC.

IRC is not the world, nor is it the only means of communication. If you really feel the need to contact with and chat with me, then by all means write me an e-mail, as I will answer it just as if I was on IRC. Lastly, I'm glad to see some sparks flying from some pilots, it is my hopes that those few will get the rest of you bums on a roll :) Well that's it for this week, stay tuned to the Colossus Airways for more. Regards.
