SQUADRON NEWS

small

I can't believe that March is coming to a close! What a month we've had! With Imperial Storm V in its closing stages, Firebird has absolutely stepped up and contributed heavily to the fights that Wing X and the Challenge have participated in. I've been updating the MSE sheet as the month has gone on, and all I can say is I'm already loosening up my typing fingers for the plethora of awards recommendations I'm going to have to make!

On that note, for the first time since I've taken over as FirebirdCMDR, I am proud to report that every member of the squadron has been active and participated in some way this month. This fact is even more impressive since we're still full! 12/12, would recommend!

Sadly, we did have a departure this month. Long time Firebird, Colonel Jeron Darkonis Astoris decided that real life wasn't allowing for enough time to contribute any regular activity, and has transferred to the reserves for the time being. Best of luck, Darkonis, and we can't wait for you to be able to return to us!

However, the good news was we were able to welcome yet another returning Challenge veteran back from the reserves. Major Prost Varsis is a former Commander and one-day (not a typo!) Commodore, though his most impressive accomplishment was how long he managed to dodge the promotion to the rank of Commander without getting RSV'd! Even though P joined us late in the month, he's jumped in with both feet, flying SP and PvE for IS5, as well as contributing towards Firebird's TCiB participation. Glad to have you back, Prost!

We owe a special congratulations to the TIE Corps' newest Major, Cade "Taurus" Tezo! A very well earned promotion for a pilot who's contributed to the success of not just Firebird or Wing X, but the TIE Corps as a whole! Great work Taurus!

After having spent the entirety of his almost 2 years in the TC with Firebird, Captain Cade "Taurus" Tezo has decided to see how the other wings do things, and has accepted a position as Squadron Executive Officer with Sigma aboard the Warrior effective the end of this month. Best of luck in your new role, and remember you will always be a Firebird!

That does leave me needing a Flight 3 Leader to replace Taurus, and thankfully I happen to have a spare laying around. Captain Travis "TI-40026" Cook has agreed to step back into the role he vacated a few months ago, and will again lead his Brahmas! This change will be effective tomorrow (I believe) with the end of the month and Taurus' transfer. Thank you for your willingness to help me lead, Travis!

Congratulations to General Master, Major Cade Tezo, CM Iam Thinking, and LT Wett who all earned an Imperial Security Medal for their activity in February! I love writing those recommendations, so keep up the fantastic work all of you!

Imperial Storm is drawing to a close, and you've all done fantastic! As always make sure you check out the Competition Center to see what competitons are running that you can participate in!

Lastly, 1 April will see the beginning of Firebird's first squadron competition in some time. The Firebird Citation Drive will be kicking off with a couple of SP battles for everyone to fly to try and get our citation count up. I'm starting us off easy, after the month we've had with Imperial Storm, so stay tuned to Firebird chat on Discord for more information about that on the first!

Fleet News

As we are all very aware, Imperial Storm V has been running this month, and I cannot begin to express how proud of you all I am! The last battle is running as we speak, and I don't know the outcome, but regardless, Firebird has impressed me with your participation and activity! Stay tuned for the results!

Sigma Squadron has a new CMDR since my last report! Congratulations to CM Matthew Steel on his appointment!

Another month, another big announcement out of the Training Office! A new Systems: Aurora course! Ever wanted to know more about the Aurora System, the home of the Emperor's Hammer? Well, now you can! Go take a course so the TOAs and Professors stay busy!

The Emperor's Hammer Recon Office, responsible for advertising and recruitment, has begun doing squadron highlights on social media! Follow them on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram!

Admiral Marenta stepped down as Warrior's Battlegroup Commander recently, taking a breather in the Reserves. Former SigmaCMDR, JetMech was promoted to Rear Admiral and appointed to replace her. Best of luck with the Warrior, JetMech!

SQUADRON & SHIP EVENTS

As mentioned, there are a ton of competiitons running at the moment, but here I'll highlight a few relelvant to us in Battlegroup III specifically:

FLEET COMPETITIONS

This is just a few of the ongoing competitions, see the TIE Corps Competition Center for a complete list!

STANDING ORDERS

Again, I can't tell you all how proud I am of Firebird's performance this month! Not only has everyone been active, but every one of us has contributed to IS5 in some way at some point! I can't ask for more than that! Thank you all for making Firebird what it is!

COMMANDERS COCKPIT

I predict April will be a bit of a slower month, and looking at our MSE, it's absolutely justified! Please remember that I just need everyone to do something to be active during the month, even if it's just flying for TCiB and/or the Citation Drive!

COL Triji Boliv signing off....

Always remember:

Honor the Past, but look to the future!
