Squadron News

They say, immitation is the best form of flattery. Well, ElleOhh, consider yourself flattered. The evolution of the Lambda Report continues. This latest format is a mixture of a template Miles was using (2 years ago), sprinkled with some Silwar items here and there (1.5 years ago), with Elle's latest format whip-creamed on top. All put together with some personal touches of yours truly. The evolution of the report will keep going as I still have a couple of things I want to throw in, but these latest changes were "urgent" so that the report would display correctly on our new website.

I am working also on a new section, called Medal Awards. A bit hard to pull off what I want there. So it is work in progress.

Two brand new competitions are starting. Squadrons Feats of Strength I, fly solo vs the AI, in SW Squadron Fleetbattles. This is harder than it sounds. Do you have what it takes? Unlimited attempts, organized by Genie.

A Bounty Hunter's Puzzling Dilemma, using the clues available from the transmission, can you determine which bounty matches for each description. This is a Star Wars themed logic puzzle competition run by Keblaomega. Our HamCOM, Phoenix, is also organizing two new competitions for the Hammer (fresh out of the oven). One fiction competition for writing up stories relating to our bar, the Drunken Bastion. And a second one, to design a logo for the bar. Be sure to check all the competitions below.

For a 2nd consecutive month, Lambda is represented in the top three of all the big EH monthly flying competitions. Big congratulations to Wolve for winning May's SP Ace of the TIE Corps with 500+ missions completed! In addition, Wookie continues to dominate in PvP, reaching 3rd place in MP Ace of the TIE Corps. Meanwhile, Co-Op Ace of the TIE Corps is represented by Wolve and Solohan in 3rd and 4th place respectively. Genie rounds up the honours by breaking 5 mission high scores this month.

Creative Corner

Ewokification (Part 1)

VA Phoenix, COL Genie, LC Alejandro, LC Highlander, GN Laan and CM ElleOhh were sitting quietly round the table at Phoenix's office. Wookie barged in, holding two Ewoks by the scruff of their neck, one in each hand.

Wookiee: Where do you want me to put these?

In the cage, like the rest of them, Phoenix gestured.

How many left to go? queried Highlander.

About a dozen more, replied Genie. We can still hear them in the vents.

What do we plan to do with them, once we catch them all? Elle asked.

Phoenix: I've come to an agreement with Lambda Squadron. They will work the zucchini and beetroot fields.

Genie coughed. You mean the Lambda Hangar.

Elle: And who started all this mess?

Genie: Solohan51, Solo's evil twin.

Wait, what? Laan interrupted.

Genie: So, yeah, a bit hard to explain this one. He is not registered on the pilot roster, but he's very much a part of Lambda Squadron.

What's going on down there!? Laan demanded.

Genie: You know all those pilots that supposedly left Lambda? Well, they haven't. They are all still here, aboard the Hammer. Corran Shub, Dillshize, Konig, Slade Caroll, Physics and... Solohan51.

Laan turned towards Phoenix, and you knew about all of this? So, this is ... Lambda's mess... again?

Phoenix knodded. But Command should not get a word out of this. We must catch Solohan51 before he escapes the Hammer.

Competitions and Events

Highlighted Competitions:

There are various competitions held by several EH pilots. Currently in the spotlight, we have the following competitions:

• Squadrons Feats of Strength I: Fly solo vs the AI, in Squadrons Fleetbattles. Do you have what it takes? Organized by Genie.
• A Bounty Hunter's Puzzling Dilemma: Using the clues available from the transmission, can you determine which bounty matches for each description. This is a Star Wars themed logic puzzle competition run by Keblaomega.
• The Challenge with Words: At the beginning of every month, Marenta will generate a word search and post the link.
• Hammer Crossword: Every month a new crossword puzzle will be created with a specific theme, organized by Solohan.
• TIE Fighter Total Conversion - Reimagined: Fly the TIE Fighter Total Conversion - Reimagined campaign. Enjoy it, submit your pilots. Organized by PickledYoda.
• A Night in the Drunken Bastion: A fiction competition based around the Hammer bar. Organized by Phoenix Berkana.
• Logo for the Drunken Bastion: Create a logo for our Hammer bar. The logo must feature the bar's name. Organized by Phoenix Berkana.

Be sure to check out all the running competitions. As Lambdas, to know the competitions you are eligible for, under "Units Involved" it must be listed as "Entire TC", "ISD-II Hammer", "Wing I" or "Lambda Squadron".

Upcoming or Current Events:

Squadron Remobilization 2022 will be coming to the Emperor's Hammer on the 15th June.

Notable Streams:

Closing Comments

I have reworked the report to use the dreaded tables, as tables play nice with our new EH website. I am an advocate of CSS styling, but to post a report you had to convert all the styling to be inline, which defeats the purpose of CSS. As they say, in a galaxy far far away, when in Rome...
