With the completion of Raise The Flag (RtF) - one of our biggest annual EH/TC competitions - we have a lot to draw from it.
For starters congratulations to all our big winners! After a month-long marathon, Battlegroup II, edged ahead right at the end. We shall eat our pilot helmets and return back stronger next year!
On the squadron front, we had a two-horse race, whereby Rho chased after Lambda all the way, forcing them to keep the pedal pressed to the medal up until the last day.
Lambda showed once again they are the squadron to beat, making me a very proud BGCOM. I am sure Rho will come back even stronger next year, while Gamma, Firebird and Typhoon have also
shown their intent! Huge effort from our squadrons, with Lambda and Epsilon hitting 100% participation, Gamma reaching 92%, Delta at 70% and Beta hitting 50%.
Last but not least, the top pilot for this year is Vanguard, who singlehandedly awakened the topic of
High Score chasing and single player. Perhaps revitalizing the single player scene in the TIE Corps. One of our own,
Gytheran pushed all the way, putting so much effort and time into flying, and even
though he missed out on first place for the pilots, he was instrumental for ensuring Lambda would come first as well as keeping BG1 in the race!
Wolve and Ranger rounded up our Top Ten, while
while a big shoutout to Solo, Habu, Blaster, Webb, Woody, Oberon, LPhoenix, and SirPants
for scoring over 1000 points!
In general, a huge effort from a lot of our pilots. Blaster going above board in rallying Gamma, Tim, sticking around until RtF to help Beta and BG1,
Kebla terrorizing the skies, Honsou overcoming personal health issues to contribute and of course our resident Ewok who had a heart attack just
to get closer to the (male) nurses.
With all these events behind us, I am opening two new art competitions. The chance to design the patch for Battlegroup 1 and
a second competition for creating the patch for ISDII GreyWolf! Send all your submissions to evghenios@yahoo.com
