Red LogoUPDATES

Greetings pilots of the Hammer!

Welcome to this week's Hammer Ship Report, the final one before the start of Raise the Flag, the TIE Corps Annual competition to determine the flagship for the following year.

It's a busy end to the month in your Commodores office, firstly we had a very closely competed trivia competition this week which you can read about further down this report. It's worth pointing out that we've updated the awards for career points, going forward pilots will receive a IS-CR for each batch of 50 points meaning even if you're not winning you will receive recognition for your efforts.

Two other competitions are also coming to a conclusion - the September run of the Hammer Tour of Duty closes later this week so if you want to submit any of the TC XvT 1 - 20 battles you'd better be quick! Secondly the first half of the Hammered on the Hammer competition being run by CM Solohan50 is also coming to a close and if you want to submit a entry - write up a 200+ word description of a bar aboard the Hammer - then please do send in a submission. I've seen some very good ones so far but more the merrier!

On to Raise the Flag. For those of you who joined us since this time last year and have no idea what RtF is, it's a competition that pits pilots against pilots, squadrons against squadrons and ships against ships. Every activity from flying different gaming platforms, writing, drawing etc is worth a set number of points and pilots accumulate points which are also rolled up at squadron and ship level. The pilot with the most points becomes the TCCOM's Wingman for the next year, the Squadron with the most points becomes the TCCOM's Escort Squadron and the ship with the most points becomes the TIE Corps Flagship. The Hammer was last the Flagship after RTF19, the same year that Epsilon served as the TCCOM's escort squadron. Other Hammer squadrons to win that privilege include Delta (RTF10) and Gamma (RTF9). You can read more about Raise the Flag here

Red LogoCOMPETITIONS

Hammered on the Hammer
I blackmailed heavily encouraged Phoenix to stop spending so much of the budget on personal Chalquilla and Twi'lek dancers and have been given authorization to start up a bar/grill/lounge on the Hammer. Now you degenerates upstanding, Imperial pilots can get drunk somewhere besides your cockpits. This competition has two parts and will take place over two months:

September - Create a bar/grill/lounge type area for the Hammer. It should be one that's utilized in-fiction by, at least, the entire TC (so not something that's just an Officer's Lounge). It should have a theme or a schtick of some type. Add a fun bartender or games or other features. There is a minimum submission length of 200 words for the bar/grill. Make sure to give it flavor and atmosphere (and maybe some humor), this is where you'll be drinking after all!

October - Create a signature drink or a signature meal for the winning bar/grill. I'm open to other consumables, but they need to be something that the winning bar/grill is known for. Submissions should be at least 50 words long. Make sure to give it some detail or a backstory of why it's the signature item.

Please email all submissions to solohan50@gmail.com and please make sure to put 'Hammered on the Hammer' in the subject line.

Prizes are as follows for September:
1st - IS-GR and the bar/grill become an official part of the Hammer canon and added to the Hammer website
2nd - IS-SR and the bar/grill become an official part of the Hammer canon and added to the Hammer website
3rd - IS-BR and the bar/grill become an official part of the Hammer canon and added to the Hammer website

Prizes are as follows for October:
1st - IS-GR and the item becomes an official part of the Hammer canon and added to the Hammer website
2nd - IS-SR and the item becomes an official part of the Hammer canon and added to the Hammer website
3rd - IS-BR and the item becomes an official part of the Hammer canon and added to the Hammer website

Trivia for the Hammered - Season Three
Each week, 4 questions will be released via email. For each question, the quickest pilot to answer correctly receives 3 points, second quickest with the correct answer gets 2 points and all the pilots with a correct answer get 1 point.
We tally up at the end of the week with the highest point total winning an IS-BR.
After 8 rounds we tally up for our Season Three winner who will receive an IS-SR, the runner up an IS-BR.
Points earned on each question accrue and lead to IS-CRs being awarded for every multiple of 50 points.

This round featured questions about Talon Karrde, his ship and creatures associated with him, as you can probably tell someone was re-reading the Dark Force Rising trilogy last week. This round was closely contested, and we ultimately saw 2 winners with a draw between Captain Witcher and Commander Solohan50. Well done to the two of you, both of you will be recieving a IS-BR in the mail!

Round Four
Q1: Who was Han Solo talking about when he said - 'You can't even call your wife on a comlink without him hearing about it.'
A1: Talon Karrde

Q2: What model of vessel was the Wild Karrde?
A2: Action IV Transport

Q3: Drang & Sturm were what species of pet animal?
