Psi Report # 0 (2001-05-20)

This report was submitted by LC Ford Prefect

We both know that I shouldn't be here, this is wrong...and baby it's killing me, it's killing you, both of us trying to be strong. I've got somewhere else to be, promises to keep. Someone else who loves me and trusts me is fast asleep..I've made up my mind, and there's no turning back...she's been good to me, and she deserves better than that...it's the hardest thing I'll ever have to do, to look you in the eye and tell you I don't love you...it's the hardest thing I'll ever have to lie, to show no emotion when your start to cry-y-y-y-y-y-y-y-y...

The cheesy synthesized horns *so* make that song :P

-Squadron News-

- Lots o' spiffalicious Psi news this week, so kick back in your swivel chairs with a Dr. Pepper and one of those chocolate-covered candy cigars and enjoy!

- As you roster fanatics may have noted, this week, LT Solaris Macharius and SL Jedak Khar were officially AWOLed. Good riddance. :-P

- ...and we've been promptly reinforced by two new pilots! Give a big welcome, if you haven't already, to Sub-Lieutenants Vokarsen and Stalker! Vokey becomes one of Flight One's Groovalicious Marshmallow Boyz, re-joining Psi after quite a long absence...some of you who aren't impaired by CMDR's Alzheimer's (any cure for that yet, Roasty? :P) may remember him as SL Arson. Vokey transferred to the Reserves after two weeks in Psi, then changed his name and transferred to Resh, back to the Reserves, and now back to Psi. SL Stalker joins us fresh out of the Daedelus, some of you have probably already met him... ;P Welcome to the both of you! You two should have already gotten your pink bunny suits, pointy sticks, and briefings on various and sundry torments and plagues our beloved Commodore brings down upon us. Drinks, of course, on the new guys, and, as Jon said, don't touch mah pink hat :P

- *Bree!* *Bree!* Competition alert! Our squadron - vs. - squadron comp with Kaph started this week! This baby runs from May 16th to the 30th, with TC-89 'Tiger and Wolf' (a four-mission long battle...) being used. Further details in the Orders section...

- Dig the updated Psi page! Another update scheduled shortly, probably either today or tomorrow. Also, note the new URL: http://psi.squadron.org, no longer psi.squadron.org/intro.html.

- Flying TIE with sunglasses on does many odd things to your eyes..

- CM Jon Doyle embarked upon brief shore leave of a couple days this week, and is back in action as of this weekend.

- Ford finished round one of his twice-a-year shopping expedition o'er the weekend. Dig the trendy new clothes and terrorist sunglasses :P

- Congratulations to LCMs Sidian and Nurel Turr, who have been awarded the Imperial Security Medal! Turr received his shiny object for this fiction work compiling a small compendium of TC fiction (attached previously to Psi Briefings...Turr shows no signs of slowdown, however - a new story, telling the true story of Sunny and Jedak Khar's disappearance, is attached), as well as good activity through May. LCM Sidian was decorated for *extremely* high activity throughout April and May. Well-done, lads!

- As some of you may be aware, Ford will be leaving later this week for a week-long Shore Leave, from Friday the 25th until June 2nd. LCM Nurel Turr will be in charge of the squadron during that time. Now, Ford's noticed that, in past time when he's left the squadron in the care of one of you maniac-...fine, upstanding pilots, he comes back to find the barracks trashed, voluminous amounts of whiskey bottles scattered about, random articles of clothing strewn around, and various lipstick and makeup stains on the furniture. While this is indeed a fine display of Psi spirit, Ford would prefer not to find unconscious, wholly-inebriated bodies in his quarters, and his liquor cabinet raided. So, to make sure this doesn't happen, Ford's taken the precaution of leaving a few MiniFords to guard his quarters. Play nice, boys >:P
Note: Please send everything pertinent (.tfrs, fiction, graphics, IWATS graduations, etc.) to both Ford and Turr, so that Ford may BSF or note the activity on your ATRs, and Turr can have the information so as to write the squadron briefings. This includes TC-89 pilot files, and as Ford will not be back in time to send off Psi's final tally, please make sure Turr gets those tfrs :P

- Huzzah for IWATS graduates Turr (mIRC I, II and SM/2) and Sid (GFX and ICQ)!

- Ford's currently engaged on compiling a history of Psi Squadron for both the Logistics Office (no comment :P) and the Psi webpage. For the moment, the history will be concentrating on Psi after the re-activation. At the moment, Ford has last year's Year in Review, but he doesn't have the YiR from the previous year that Sas sent out. If anyone happens to has that, or any other older files (preferably during Sas' early tenure as CMDR), please send it in to Ford!

- If, in the midst of a soccer game, the chicks on the sidelines primarily comment about how much you're bleeding, it's time to get a new cologne.
Or maybe they dig the whole rugged bit...hmmm...

-Wing News-

- The Wing II Pilot League has ended! Congratulations to Theta's LCM Mayk Drazzic, winner of Division 1, Sin's LCM John Doe, winner of Division 2, and Sigma's LT Cahir, winner of Division 3. Sigma walked off with the highest total squadron score, and Sin ended up with the highest squadron average. Psi's participation in the comp faded off towards the end, Ford included, due to several factors, but Ford would like to see Psi pilots dominating the board next season, as well as competing for the squadron titles!

- Several promotions throughout the wing, most notably MAJs Astarosta and Stele Pellaeon getting LC. Congrats!

- Mission 2 of the Wing II: Vanguard competition has ended, with LCM Sidian and LCM Nurel Turr submitting for Psi. Ford flew it multiple times, and came within 40% of an ATR's hull of beating the cursed thing, but had to stop due to time constraints. Bah >:P
Mission 3 has been released, due date is June 3rd (.tfrs go to LC Stele Pellaeon)

- In case you've missed, it Wing II has been proclaimed TIE Corps Commander's Own for the month of April! Dig it, baby!

- SovMan competition! Will you be the designer of the costume the spiffaliciously studly savior of the Sov? Test out your artistic merits! Any sort of vaguely graphical submission is acceptable for this comp (stick-figures, elbow macaroni art, play-doh sculptures...anything! :P)! Send in those submissions to Inky, COM Kramer and LT Ryan Tribal, originator of the SovMan concept. Winners get medals! Yah! Uniform designs are due in by the 15th.

- Sov Top Gun comp! This is an XWA and TIE Sov-wide comp, designed to find out who the, well, top gun of the Sov is :P
For the first round, all interested pilots are to fly F-TIE 93 or F-XWA 17. (Note: If you're participating after Ford goes on leave, make sure Turr gets your .tfrs for this comp as well). The comp will have three elimination rounds, each cutting down the playing field, until only one is left! Good luck...

-Squadron Orders-

- Fly TC-89!!!!!!!!!!!! In conjunction with the Wing II medical staff, Ford has prescribed hysterectomy's for all non-participating pilots, so get in your cockpits! >:P In Psi's last squadron comp, we teamed up with Sin to take on Praetorian, and won! This time around, we're going solo, and although Kaph Squadron isn't oficcially a TC Elite, they're going to be very hard to beat unless we get 100% participation! GET FLYIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING! Tfrs, again, are due in by the 30th!
Also, a few hints: the pink-colored neutral craft *can* be killed! After flying the first two missions a couple of times, this is the *only* way that you can come anywhere near the mission high scores. Though they are listed in the 'craft lost' debriefing, they are not Imperial craft, and you will not be penalized under either the game rules or TC rules for killing them! In the first mission, make sure to kill off the R-41s and the Frigate, and be sure to take out the FRG in the second mission! Keep in mind this comp takes *top priority* over all other squadron orders!!! Good luck, boys!
(Editor's Note: The last paragraph has been nominated in the 'Most Consecutive Exclamation Points' category for the Military Briefing Awards ceremony. Due to a severe case of hyperventilation, however, LC Ford Prefect has been declared unable to be present to receive any form of award, so we've sent him a nice fruit basket instead)

- Fly Mission 3, featuring Sigma Squadron, for Inky's Raid!

- Fly F-TIE 93 or F-XWA 17 for the Sov Top Gun comp!

- Create SovMan's uniform! (come on, guys, Ford knows a few of you are closet knitters... :P)

- FLY TC-89!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

::: Ford is dragged away by medical personnel in lab coats, stabbed repeatedly by tranquilizers :::

-Misc. / Fleet News-

- COMM CoolGuy has been removed as Communications Officer of the EH...applications are being accepted. The requirements:

The duties of the Communications Officer are:

Keep a website online with working links to the EH Java chat room, IRC chat programs for various platforms,
CService registration, Undernet Server list, and instructional material such as the X-Commands FAQ, IWATS mIRC
courses, and preferably a netiquette FAQ or two
Maintain the ops list in the #Emperor's_Hammer channel
Be available to assist members on getting connected along with helping new EH ops register on X and get
acquainted
Maintain an online archive of EH Meeting logs
Enforces bans (and keeps members of the "Most Wanted" out of EH channels), enforces IRC CoCs, and reports
continued violators to the proper command officers
Keep a strong online (IRC) presence
Assist the Security Office with monitoring the EH Message Boards

The MINIMUM requirements for the positions are as follows:

EH Membership of at least one year
Some webpage design experience
Gets along well with others
No HCI convictions
High online/IRC time commitment

If you wish to apply to the position, you must e-mail your application to both Grand Admiral Ronin and Sector Admiral
Kawolski. Failure to do so will result in your application getting ignored because if you're not smart enough to know how to
send an e-mail to two people at once, you're not qualified.

Be sure to include any references, how you meet the requirements, how much time you can commit, and what ideas you
have for COMM if you were selected for the position.

(Note: Knowledge of writing IRC scripts, configuring bots, and programming are NOT requirements for the position.)

- TC.org's IP address has changed...update yo browser cache, foo's!

- RO Banner Comp:

This comp is one of pure graphics. The members will design a banner for either the Emperor's Hammer or the RECON
Office. The banners must be 400 x 40 pixels large.

Awards:
First Place: IS-GR
Second Place: IS-SR
Third Place: IS-BR

Depending on the number of submissions for each category - EH or RO - will determine if awards are given for each
category.

Submissions go to: Admiral Keiran Idanian

- His IO-ness needs a new topic logo:

This is a call out to all of you graphically talented people out there. I'm getting tired of my crappy IO Topic Logo for
ehnet.org, that I recycled out of previously made graphics.

Current IO Topic Logo

I want something that says "EH", and "Internet" graphicaly (not through text). I will award a Palpatine Crescent (PC) for the
best graphic submitted to me. Graphics submitted should be 300x300 pixels (I will resize it down to about 64x64, so make
sure it looks good small also), and in high quality PNG, or JPEG format (no gifs please). Please email all submissions to
io@absolutek.com.

- ISD Subjugator, part of the SSD Avenger...uh...group...opens up. Details, from FA Priyum:

Over the past several months the SSD Avenger has grown dramatically, both in terms of size and activity. This is
undoubtedly due to the hard work of not only the pilots onboard, but also the Officers. This success has allowed for a
relatively rare event - the opening of a new ISD and Wing! Both myself, and Vice Admiral Firefox decided that the time
was right to add this new Ship to the Fleet, so Wing XX and it's parent ship, the ISD Subjugator have been activated. The
Subjugator, attached to the Avenger, is a Dark Brotherhood ship - which means that all pilots onboard are also members of
the DB.

This opening also brings some changes with it:

Avenger Wings I and II have been renamed to Wings XVIII & XIX respectively.
Although the Subjugator will be an independent ship in terms of everyday function, the new COM will be
subordinate to Vice Admiral Firefox in terms of seniority (and hence report to him with important decisions). The
COM will also act as his XO and step in as and when needed.
It is important to note that these two ships do NOT form a Battlegroup.

Applications for the new Commodore are now being accepted. The requirements are as follows:

You must have been in the TIE Corps for at least ONE year.
No HCI convictions.
A working knowledge of all Fleet protocols and policies.
Command experience at Wing Commander level or above (the more the better).
Extensive use of IRC.
You must also be a member of the Dark Brotherhood.

All applications should be sent to Vice Admiral Firefox & Fleet Admiral Priyum and they should arrive within the week.
Once the new COM is in place, applications for Wing XX WC will be taken, but not until then.

CMDR's Note: Why are there two DB flying groups? They've already got the Sith Clans in the regular DB organization, but there's also the Avenger, a DB-only flying group in the TC, as well as now the ISD Subjugator. Why on earth do they have two groups, and not just one? Any DB-type folk know?

- Imperial Vogue, Issue 1 has been released. There's a humorous, but graphic article concerning FA AbsoluteK...otherwise, the magazine's rather stale and lame. Anyway: http://www.darklord.ukshells.co.uk/mairin/vogue/index.html

- Congrats to RA Dras Hempor, the new Immortal COM!

- The TAC is on leave until the 25th.

- TIE Tactics passes 100 graduates! w00t! :P

(hides from Inky)

All for this week...

Ford, you are the weakest link. Goodbye!
