Koph Report # 36 (2001-05-11)

This report was submitted by LC Firebird

Pilots of Koph Squadron:

First off this week, I'd like to say that all my objectives over my
short emergency leave this week were accomplished and all is well with
the Empire as a result. Thank you, Iceman, for filling in during my
absence.

Secondly, I would like to remind you all that nobody in the squadron
is officially on leave any longer, and I would like everyone to report
in by next Wednesday. We have less than three weeks left for our
competition with Wing V, and I want to see a submission from everyone.

The best news of the last week is that we are back up to six pilots!
Everyone please welcome LT Neo Rising to Koph. He comes from Wing V's
Mem Squadron, and has already shown quite a bit of activity. Welcome
to Koph, Lieutenant :)

Just as a reminder, fly TC-TIE #171 and submit your scores to me
before May 30th for our competition with Wing V! This is important,
folks!

Due to the fact that we now have 6 pilots again, we also have 6 of our
squadron citations back! Does anyone think we can get 10 by the next
squadron report?

My good friend and Tav CMDR, CM Bonzo, suggested something a few weeks
ago that I have been thinking seriously about for Koph: a Squadron ID
Line. It would go under your normal medal line, like so:

CMDR/LC Firebird/Koph/Wing VI/SSSD Sovereign
PCx4/ISM/CoL/LoA/OV-4E [HUSS] {IWATS-IIC/1/2/3-M/1/2-SM/1/2}
[Squadron Medals and Stuff Here]

It would reflect the various achievements you made on the squadron
level, but perhaps were not awarded a "real" medal for. For example,
those of you who keep winning the Koph Ace of the Week would be able
to put those in your ID line, and those of you who were here in
October and November could put the WC's Own in your ID line. I'm still
working on the details of how this would all fit together, but for
starters I've got the following things for the ID lines:

Wing Commander's Own: WCO

A pilot earns a WCO simply for being in the squadron when it is
awarded Wing Commander's Own. WC's Own is an extremely difficult honor
to earn from the present WC, so the WCO is the highest squadron medal
at the moment.

Victory Against Wing XIV: XIV

Koph led Wing VI to victory against Wing XIV awhile back, which was a
major accomplishment in our history that ought not be forgotten. Those
of us who were in Koph at the time get to add "XIV" to our ID lines...
it goes well with all the kill marks on our TIEs :)

Booze Locker Key: BLK

The CMDR always has the keys to the booze locker, of course... but
those of you who have been here awhile will recall that occasionally I
will give keys to pilots who do something extraordinary.

Koph Ace of the Week: KA

Every week I award the Koph Ace of the Week in the squadron report.
Well, I do actually keep track of who has earned it, and I consider it
to be the ISM of squadron medals.

So as an example, my Squadron ID Line would read:

WCOx2/XIV/BLK/KA

So... here's the current medal board:

WCO:
LC Firebird - 2
LC Iceman - 2
CPT Mauser - 2

XIV:
LC Firebird
LC Iceman
CPT Mauser

BLK:
LC Firebird
LC Iceman

KA:
LC Iceman - 8
LT Sandor Clegane - 5
CPT Mauser - 3
LC Firebird - 1
LT Canta Jade - 1
LT Tac Balon - 1
GN Kerrwiden Jorddyn - 1

I will be posting the medals and the medal board on the Koph website
(http://apn.dhs.org/koph/) later today.

And finally... I get to award yet another Koph Ace of the Week! This
week, as is traditional here in Koph Squadron, our new pilot gets the
Ace. However, LT Neo very much deserves it for his efforts to get a
new bot in the wing's IRC channel. Keep up the good work, Lieutenant!
