CMDR Roth Jalis reporting in for Demon Squadron on 03/25/01


Squadron News

a.. Dras Hempor had to step down as CMDR due to lack of time. He leaves Demon Squadron behind in an excellent shape and for that I thank him. :) Luckily he won't be leaving us altogether, and on his own request he has been transferred to flightposition 2-4.
b.. CM Roth Jalis has taken over Demon Squadron and is still in the progress of getting settled in his new comfortable office. ;P I'm gonna miss that bunk ... did I just say that?
c.. COL Marc has taken over Flight Leader spot 2 and is the new XO. He has proven in the short time back aboard the Immortal to be a very active and dedicated pilot. Due to his efforts on the Demon homepage and his past experiences within the EH I have chosen him to be the new XO.
d.. FL3 - Position is open and needs to be filled ASAP. Let me know if you're interested.
e.. ECR Phase II - Graphics Design results. Immortal / Demon had a solid presence in the top three. Kadath made an excellent piece of graphics earning him the first place, good work! :P Our old Demoner CPT Braxton earned himself the 2nd place and Rear Admiral Mell, once our own Wingcommander, got 3rd. Coincidence??
f.. ECR Phase III - The final and decisive phase has started to determin the next Battlegroup Flagship. Free-XWA-5 is due March 31st. All ship scores will be averaged and compared to the current high score, which is 12,159. We need 100% participation on this one if we want to remain the Flagship!
g.. Xwa league III CR6 - This will be the final mission to fly, last round Ranger Squadron managed to increase the gap, I'd say we close it!
h.. New Nickname and Motto - Some old CMDR ;P pointed me on the fact that the nickname and motto of flightgroup 3 was kinda crap. I can't aggree more with him. :) Therefore everyone will have untill April 15th to come up with a new one.

j.. Immortal Honor Guard - Dras, Lito and myself hold the Golden batallion ( FYI - to get on the Honor List you must have flown all XWA battles free missions , and to get the Golden Batallion you must have at least 5 High Scores as well ) http://www.webroot.net/immortal/honor.html
k.. IAPL - Roth still champion, LCM Aeolus didn't submit a pilotfile so it was an easy victory. Too bad. No new challenges have yet been received. hmmm:P


Squadron Status

a.. As CMDR I need to have a presence on IRC, till now that is quite difficult due to my internet connection. I am working on getting myself cable connection shortly though. Will I finally be able to join you on IRC and with on-line flying comps.:) I'm really looking forward to getting blown apart by you guys in a one on one flying match :P
b.. We've lost one pilot with CM Charles Spencer taking the position of CMDR of Rage squadron but our numbers remain to be strong.
c.. Hoeray, Demon Squadron exists one year. Although already almost two weeks now this historical fact just needed to be mentioned. Congrats go to CPT Lito for being the longest sitting Demon pilot at a time.

e.. Demon webpage - COL Marc is still working on the new page and needs submissions from all of us. Things like technical data on the Te/1 , cool banners , etc. Mail your stuff to Marc (spudgeman@mailandnews.com) and cc me (rothjalis@cs.com)
g.. Unit Uniform Patch / EH logo - We still need our own uniform patch and the EH needs a new logo, sooo... why not combine it? What I was thinking of.. if we're all busy with earning that GOE-medal anyway :), why not use the same idea for our uniform patch. With a minor adjustment ofcourse :P
I have some ideas but not the right programs to create it, if you're willing to be of assistance, let me know. (remember MSE is on the way) >=)


Squadron Orders

a.. Fly mission Free-XWA-5 for XWA-league III CR6 and ECRII phase III. High scores are important as the average score counts for the ECR! Make sure to use the tips distributed through the e-group.
b.. Create new nickname and motto for FLightgroup 3, due April 15th. Be creative :P
c.. As coppied from the homepage :P We need some information on the TIE/E1 so that we can learn more about the fighter which we fly. Someone need to research the material and send it to COL Marc so that he can post it on the web site.
d.. Keep your activity high, I want mail mail mail. :) If you have anything, ideas, remarks, whatever let me know. My door is always open.

Personal note: All in all the last few weeks have been quite exciting, we saw a rise in the numbers with some returning to Demon and others joining. It seams that none can leave this Squadron just like that. Therefore I believe the following covers it quite well, "Once a Demon, always a Demon!"
