Squadron News
As you may already know, Aleth's CR #6 scores were not counted in the final tally for the XWA Competitions. I promised to get to the bottom of this and with the help of an e-mail from our illustrious Wing Commander I now know what happened. Sasquatch got the scores but he sent them to an old address of COL Badlands so Badlands couldn't count them. It wouldn't have made a difference in our final standings, but I know you worked hard on them all the same and I'm sorry that they weren't counted.
CPT Carren has created a new Wing III webpage located at http://wing-iii.8m.com, looks pretty nice.
CM Wolverine has completed the TIE Mission Creation IWATS course.
CPT Kalar flew Free-XWA #5.
CPT Carren also suggested a new idea for Aleth squadron that I expanded upon and outlined below.

Aleth Squadron Competition
Based on a suggestion I received from CPT Carren, I'm going to institute a new competition that will hopefully increase activity in the squadron both for the active pilots and those of you who aren't so active (and you know who you are). I'll admit that it's title isn't very catchy, but it isn't about having a catchy title. Every two weeks I will assign a battle or several free missions. I will take the final score (either battle score or the sum of the free mission scores) and the person with the highest score will get 100% score on that battle. Other scores for that same battle will be curved based on the highest score being 100%. I will continue this for a while (I haven't determined how long yet) and each time I will average your new percentage in (it's like being in school with starfighters). At the end of this I will give a prize of some kind to the winner and maybe to the runner up too. The reason for the curving and averaging is so that missions or battles with higher possible scores don't overshadow battles with lower possible scores.
