Kappa Squadron Report - April 16th, 2001 - MAJ Astarosta


Well, here it is again, on the day this report should be sent *sorta* :p
(personal note: don't do this kind of remarks in the future or they'll realize they have a CMDR who tends to procrastinate)

Squadron News

-LCM Jan Wemmel has returned from his leave for the Jedi Con in Cologne and has promised a whole bunch of anecdotes to tell us. Be aware that your commander is in deep state of envy for living thaaaat far from there. :p
He also reported an interview he's got on a Germany Sci-Fi radio station. It will be broadcast today on http://www.sf-radio.de/ Maybe if we miss it, we could get a saved audio file or a transcription...whoever is able to do that, well, do it :p

-My TIE Fighter CD got a crack. Life is a beach :p

-There seems to be a funny mispell I didn't notice on the Kappa logo and the angry crown is yelling for heads to roll. Well, the creator of the logo was COL Badlands. And as he outranks us all, we need someone's blood to silence the Kappa populations. Ehm... lemme see... well, Tempest will be the one. Or maybe Jan, cause he got to fo to the Con...hmm I dunno...well, just torture each other. It will be fun :p

-Algaron is working on a recruitment submission from to put on our webpage. When that is completed, the adress will be posted on all our Recruitment board posts and whenever a cadet asks us for info. What we need is a list of qualities we think as priority to be a Kappan, such as transvestite tendencies, alcohol (zero) tolerance, weird hairdos, scary obsessions with Richie Sambora (and I'm not pointing at anyone :p), etc, to go along with the less serious items like piloting skills, commitment to duty, views of the Empire, game platforms etc :p . Send all the suggestions to me and I will pick the best ones to be put in the form. I want lots of submissions from all of you since we all represent what a Kappan is.

-Wing II Pilot League is on its eight week and things seem to be stable on the tables (oh, my god, now I got the annoying poet virus that crawls Wing II barracks :p) . We need to rock em out and overcome.

-We also need more submissions for Wing II vs Wing V. Remember, the sooner you fly them, the relaxed Roasty will be.

-This week's Ol' Roasty's word o' advice: "Don't trust your CD-ROM device. Mine likes to chew CDs"

The Wing II vs Wing V comp has started!!! There are two battles to be flown before April ends. WE MUST GET A 100% PARTICIPATION ON THIS!!! Wing V has more pilots, so we all must fly them. It is a hard battle we're engaged and we musn't lose. Ok, so fly TC-TIE 64 and 65 (both attached) before the end of the month!! EXTREMELY TOP PRIORITY!!!

Miscellaneous

-Star Wars Quake: The Call of the Force Project Closed

The project to create the Star Wars Quake 2 total
conversion called "The Call of the
Force", has be closed down. The source code for
the project has been posted on their
website at http://swtc.telefragged.com/news.shtml.
Personally, I hate to see this just
die. If i knew C++ better, i'd pick it up myself
and port it to Q3A. May be someone
else out there has the knowledge?

-Iron Star clarification

Either via stupidity or just trying to rort the
system, a number of competitions are being
submitted that are unacceptable. These
competitions are usually one squadron vs
another where the highest scoring person from each
squadron gets a IS-BW. These
competitions will be denied. Similarly, any
competitions where the CMDR of the
winning squadron gets an award will be denied. I
hope that clears things up.
