TARTARUS SQUADRON

"Recently, a new military campaign has begun and ISD Grey Wolf had been chosen to lead our forces into battle. Before the Wolf Pack will attack, we will strenghten our starfighter complement with both veteran and green pilots.
Tartarus Squadron, led by CM Ayudanter de la Clars, has been commisioned first to be improved. With this, newly promoted CM Tomaas Banys (aka Wolfmaster) has been put in charge of the squadron. CM Wolfmaster is a seasoned ASF pilot, previously holding FM position in the Crusader Squadron, COMs own for last few months. As Tartarus CMDR, he will ensure that the squadron will keep proving themselves as GWs finest."

Ok boys and girls, this is your CMDR reporting in. All I can say is that yesterday I was a pissed-off guy who just failed his driving licence examinations (I know, I know, but it wasn't my fault - I've just realized that my book had several omissions and that I must get over it) and today... wow. I've checked my e-mail only to be amazed by the fact I have been chosen to lead you to victory. You're all great (I've been observing you for a while) and we should be able (together) to become much more powerful than anyone could possibly imagine...

YOUR BELOVED COMMANDER

Is just an ordinary guy. I'd love to shake hands with all of you and just say "Hi! I'm Tom, your new commander, I'm honored to fight at your side and I want you to..." but we are spread all over the world. Well, I'll try to introduce myself as good as I can...
My real name is "Tomasz Banyœ" and this will be the name appearing on your squadron reports and any other letters you'll get from me very soon :) ...my full name is Tomasz Andrzej Jakub (Thomas Andrew James) Banyœ but don't even bother with remembering it. Just I think you should know what it stands for. I live in Poland just like Leslaw and I consider myself quite a pilot, though our @()#$&)$^#@)_$^@) ^*$ ISP, Telekomunikacja Polska SA gives us (polish pilots) real hard times when we try to fight using modems. Only few of us really have a chance in MP competitions (due to lags) but we still try. But back for me.
I live in £ódŸ (Lodz) - among 910000 other people. (You wouldn't want to meet most of them actually.) I'm a highschool student (well, I'm just 17) and a dedicated system engineer at MobileNet PL. I play the guitar in a local jazz band. I'm a happy CMDR of Tartarus Squadron.
This should give you some ideas what you might expect from me... the answer is "commanding" but it's not what people find most of commanders to do. Well, most of people find me friendly and nice so I think you have a chance of becoming friends with me too. I personally consider that a squadron is a family and we're not just brothers in arms (and sisters of course, Chris) but a real family. We keep with each other and fight for the glory of the Emperor's Hammer.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

Tartarus Squadron was incorporated as a pacification squadron, which means we will be mostly supporting our ground forces. However, we will often take part in strike operations. The squadron commander wishes to show that we're not worse than the Crusaders. With this as our main objective, mediocre activity will be required. Those who will be active will quickly find themselves awarded and/or promoted. Those who won't - will not.
Our main goal is to hold 25 citations before end of the month and 50 before the summer vacations. This can be done if we all start flying. That's why I will try to fly much and you should try too.
However, there is a second problem right now. With Ayu gone, we still don't have six members and we can't hold citations... this means that the next point of my report will be...

RECRUITMENT

I want new pilots! And I mean it (really). I want to show people you're great (because you are - you just don't know that yet) and that you work hard. It's all about fun. Have you ever read a novel about Rogue Squadron? Why were they elite? Not because they were the best (actually, they were the best rebel squad too) but because they supported each other a lot. And they had at least 12 members ready for anything. Well, you can do whatever you want, but please try to recruit some cadets to join us. So we could begin our way into glory...

NEWS

1. I've assumed command of the Tartarus Squadron and been named traitor (read later on).
2. Our ace, LC Bruckmack, decided that he'll step down from his WC position as soon as anyone might arise to command the wing. We owe him much and we'd love to see him working just where he was, but he got bored of it. He found himself a little too busy with those duties while he wanted to improve his records. I hope everything will go smoothly.
3. LT DarkC had proven herself while I wasn't with you yet. Congrats.

<< AT EXAM >> by CM Tomaas Banys

"Ok, I'm here." The clock showed 11:07. LCM Wolfmaster sat on one of the dusty chairs in the hall. Nearly an hour till he was to approach his driving licence examination for All-Terrain transports (ATs). He was a bit nervous and began to wonder if he passes the tests. It was supposed to be a part of theory (12:00) then the proving ground (12:35) and the urban mock-combat test (about 14:00) so Wolfmaster was about to spend a bit of time on the planet surface. He tried to smile, but he was more worried. He engaged in a conversation with a nearby group of stormtroopers who were going to undertake the same examination. The hour passed quickly, faster than anyone could imagine.

"12:00. Welcome gentlemen. Today we will find out who of you can be a driver for those ATs. Theory will be first. You have exactly 25 minutes for it. Each of you will get a sheet with questions and another one for your answers. There are 20 questions. Each of them has a set of answers. Most of them have 3. A question is considered ok when you mark all true answers. It could be one, it could be two or more. When you mark at least one answer more than you should - or one less - you fail the question. You can have 2 questions wrong. Get to it, people!" The old man said and they started to write. Wolfmaster had a problem with two of the questions: they were completely wrongfully formed and he was no sure if he'll be able to mark appropriate answers. But he also knew that one of the answers should be marked - always - and did what he considered best: marked those, which he found most convincing to him. He handed his test to the instructor and left for the hall.

"Ok, people, now I will read the results. Remember that if somebody got 2 questions wrong, he got a positive result but if he got 3 questions qrong, he failed. I'll read the results now. LCM Tomaas Banys..." - Wolfmaster's heart began to pump lots of adrenaline into his veins - "3 questions wrong, negative result. SGT Hyrea..."

Wolfmaster left the room. He wasn't very happy, but he wasn't very sad either. He hasn't realized what happened yet. He just boarded his gunboat and took off.

3 hours later, while approaching landing in the main hangar, Wolfmaster realized what had happened. He landed and immediately came out. He saluted some officers and then accelerated in direction of the bar. Soon, he was about to take command of the Tartarus Squadron, which he didn’t know of yet…

SQUADRON ACTIVITY

I don't know much of you yet, but I noticed that those of you who really want to make Tartarus a better squadron kept active while we had temporarily no commander and I hereby thank them for their efforts. Here is the squad activity as posted for this week:

Tartarus 1-1: CM Tomaas Banys: (that's me!)... I did TC-TIE#2,3,16,36,38 and broke my joystick. Good heavens! Then, I applied for this position. The wait was filled with studying (ugh! hate it!) and working with CT Arcadius Calidus (he might join us soon) - I helped him a bit with some training aspects. I got LCM on 24th of April and happy I continued to study. I failed my driving licence examination yesterday and today, I got a holonet transmission from DarkC. Appointed CMDR! Sheesh! This week was sure a lot of action. And besides, I've noticed that my previous commander, MAJ Marcin Szydlowski aka Mike is not pleased that I leave to lead you. He realizes your potential and knows that from now on, they must keep an eye out for us. Hehe, I have been called a "traitor" by him. Time will show if he gets on with it. I hope so =P
Tartarus 1-2: LT Callousness: Nothing this week.

Tartarus 2-2: LT DarkC: Ace of the week! She completed FREE-TIE#1-2,4-8 and TC-TIE#2-7. She kept in touch with RA Woobee a lot. I got greeting mail from her. Keep up the good work, I'm pleased with your performance!
Tartarus 2-3: LT Juan Cortes: Nothing this week.

Tartarus 3-1: LCM Leslaw: Some holonet transmissions. Is your joystick still broken (just like mine?) or are you taking a break? Fly something.

Of course top ace of the week is Chris, I mean LT DarkC. If I see that kind of performance continue, she'll take command of the Flight II. I think she deserves it, don't you?
