Introduction
We lost a pilot, gained a pilot, promoted
a pilot, awarded a pilot a medal and took part in a couple of competitions. A
fairly eventful week, I must say. Things do look like they are looking up and
soon all should be well in the Phantom barracks. However, there is still one
thing I must do to improve this squadron…
Quite frankly, I’m going to be an evil bastard!!! Fair enough, if you’re
good to me I’ll be good to you, and if you have problems I will still do my
best to help you…that will never change!!! What will change is my temperament
when you do wrong, such as not take part in competitions, not be active, or keep
out of contact.
Not only will you get harsh words if you aren’t pulling your weight, but I
will act upon my words. The honeymoon period is now over! I’ve been CMDR for
over a month, and most of the new pilots now know what they should be doing.
I will be mailing every pilot individually over this week. Most of you will get
praise and if you keep up the good activity expect the odd medal here and there
when I do my end of month Evaluations. Some of you will get letters demanding
better, or action will be taken. I don’t fear using AWOLs if someone doesn’t
reply to my mails. I don’t fear asking pilots to leave if they aren’t
active. Quite frankly, I don’t care if some people hate me for it…because at
the end of the day they aren’t in my good books either.
But lets focus on being nice to Phantom Squadron and it’s evil little CMDR. If
you do, I’ll remain the nice chap you all love and I promise you will have a
great time being active. You also don’t have to be overly active. If you
don’t believe you can’t take part in something, then tell me why …you can
only be as good as YOU can possibly be, so I will understand.
Please welcome SL Jari to Phantom Squadron. He’s already made his mark by sending in an entry for the ECR competition (although it was late, but he’s forgiven coz he just joined a few days ago).
Again, that’s another pilot for another week. Let’s see if this run of recruitment carries on to next week too :o)
LT Deimos promoted!!!
Congratulations to LT Deimos who has been promoted to a LT this week. Remember that there a number of ways all you SL’s can do to be promoted too, so jump to it and you can have a promotion too (all SL-LT promotion details listed in welcome mail).
LCM Bill Tar AWOLed
Sadly I have had to AWOL LCM Bill Tar. He had been in Phantom for a hell of a long time and it’s a shame he lost contact with us. Just let this be a reminder to you all to mail me lots so I know you’re still here.
ECR Graphics
A decent showing from Phantom Squadron for Cantina Run: Phase II. Thank you to Gunman, Spearhawk, Werdna (me!) and Jari (who was a little late, but we’ll see if it is still accepted). That’s 50% participation, which would be okay, but I want EVERYONE to take part next time. Remember that this competition is based on participation, so if you don’t take part I won’t be very nice to you (unless you have good reason).
XWA League CR#5
Again, 50% participation for this competition. This time, thanks go to Gunman, Spearhawk, me and Deimos. We still have one more mission to go before this competition is over so get ready for details on it in the near future. Squadron Banner
Phantom now have a new banner, which will be on our TC roster page very shortly. Thanks to CM Spearhawk for making it, and for that he shall be awarded an ISM!!!
Details have not come in yet about the mission, but keep an eye on your e-mail as I will be posting them as soon as they are available. I want full participation!!! If you can’t take part then tell me why, rather than make me think you are lazy. If I get no mail about it and you don’t take part, I will do something about it.
Operation: Cantina Run III
- Phase III- Mission Flying Contest: March 19th - March 31st, 2001
With the Fiction and Graphics stages over, it
is now time for the Flying Contest. There are no details yet, as the competition
starts tomorrow…but I will inform you as soon as they are available.
You will have two weeks to fly, but I want you to hand a pilot file to me on the
Sunday 25th March. If not, you will be hassled by me until you do hand your
pilot file in. If you don’t hand anything in at all…all hell will break
loose!!!
Upcoming Competitions
With the two major competitions ending soon, I will be
starting new competitions in a couple of weeks. We will probably be defending
our honour against various other squadrons, so get ready to kick some ass …or
I’ll kick yours.

what you would like to have posted. You could post information, start and carry
on discussions, ask for help on a variety of subjects, post tips for how to do
better in a competition mission, etc.
IRC Please attend #isd_immortal as often as possible on IRC. There
are also the channels #emperor’s_hammer and #tiecorps, so please go there as
often as you can. If you don't know how to use or get on IRC, please mail me
about it and I will help you.
Immortal IRC Meeting - There is also a Ship meeting in #isd_immortal at
3pm EST (8pm GMT) every Sunday for announcements and chat. I should be there, so
if you need any help with anything or just a chat with me, please show up.
Naval Corps closing

As will be discussed in XO Report #4:
Over time, the Naval Corps has become nothing more than a clone of the TIE Corps XWA wings with a different command structure. It has been under the agreement of GA Ronin, myself, and several other key commanding officers that the Naval Corps will completely close down when the new EH Database is activated.
As of right now, Echo Company is closed and any current Echo Company cadets completing training will automatically be assigned to a TIE Corps X-Wing Alliance wing. Eventually, all clones of TC members in the Naval Corps will be eliminated as well. Anyone who is not a clone is encouraged to start looking for a X-Wing Alliance wing (Sovereign Wing III, ISD Immortal, or ISD Vanguard) to transfer to.
Anyone "left behind" when the Naval Corps closes will automatically go to the reserves until they make a transfer request.
The future of the Naval Corps is being discussed behind closed doors at the moment.
(CMDR note: This should mean we should have even more pilots heading our way. Expect a high number of pilots in Phantom Squadron and the rest of the ISD Immortal soon :o)

- Keep an eye on your e-mails for details on XWA League CR#6. FULL PARTICIPATION THIS TIME!!!
- Also look for details on the ECR Flying Contest in your e-mails. Again, FULL PARTICIPATION!!!
- Take part in as many multiplayer competitions as you can (more info can be found at http://www.tiecorps.org/combat/)
- Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there is also an #ISD_Immortal room.
- If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me. ISD Immortal meetings are on at 3pm EST in their channel.
- Post on the Phantom Message Board more often. It can be found in the Squadron Forums on http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/
- Recruit!!! If I can do it, ANYONE can!!!
- Give me some BSFs to do. If there are any missions you haven't flown, then get flying. If you've completed them already, then why not go for the highscores as they may be useful in a future competition.
