HUUURAAAY. We got 2.

"Training"

Drako entered training room. He saw funny view. Derek was teaching crusader pilots hand-to-hand fighting. Everybody were repeating Derek's moves. Drako smiled. He remembered his training on Yinchorr. It was a real hard training. Wiesio saw Drako and said:
-Why you aren't training? Mike said we have to learn hand to hand fighing.
-Yes. Come here. You should know how to fight - said Derek
-Noo... It will be better if I will be only watching.
-Come on! Why you don't want to learn? I can teach you some useful things.
-OK... Show me what you can.
-I don't want to hurt you.
-Be calm. You won't. Hit me!
Derek attacked Drako. He tried to knock out him fast. But Drako bounced all his hits. He jumped over Derek. Than he attacked. Derek tried to defence himself but after second he was on the floor. Wiesio's and all other's jaws dropped on the floor.
-You are very fast! Where did you learn that? -asked Derek when he was standing up.
-How...-Wisio couldn't speak.
-If I say you won't know where it is. Yinchorr. On Yinchorr. A long, long time ago. - replied Drako
-Well. You was right. I don't know where it is. -said Derek -but shurely it wasn't stormtrooper's training.
-No it wasn't. In that case I wouldn't be here. I would be dead.
-But how... -Wiesio was still not able to speak
In the door appeared Mike and called Drako
-I must go. Cya.
-OK. You will have to teach me that. -said Derek
-Maybe someday... who knows -replied Drako and went to Mike
-How... how... -Wiesio was looking at Drako. Derek looked at Wiesio and said
-Wiesio...-said Derek. Wiesio looked at him.
-What?
-Shut up!

:: 2359 hours, monday, march 12, 2001
:: ISD Grey Wolf, enroute to CRC-352

Midnight. Almost all people aboard ISD Grey Wolf were sleeping after another
day that brought them victory. However, there were few who weren't.
Wolfmaster was one of them. He was going to have another bottle of beer when
reports became coming in to the bridge. The staff began analyzing them and
Tomaas was just not tired enough to miss the analysis. He straightened his
uniform and went to the bridge. The big boss was already there and all of
the officers gathered around him. Wolfmaster recognized his commander, MAJ
Marcin Szydlowski. He smiled and sat up near the intelligence console, which
was empty. Other officers were concentrated on analyzing all possible data,
and therefore did not see the upcoming reports yet.

Wolfmaster read over the Intelligence reports of what was a small rebel
force which attacked the convoy heading for a distant world of CRC-352. The
Grey Wolf was also going there, as CRC-352 was a perfect place to set up a
small military installation. However, the reports indicated complete
destruction of the convoy and the escorts. He went through them one by one,
not drawing up any kind of theory upon what kind of unit they were. The
reports were too little information to get a good theory on who it was.
However, Wolfmaster recognized the tactics the raiders used. Inner Security,
New Republic. Probably the infamous Ghost Dog squadron. There were rumors
that they use their own, designed specially for them, type of fighter.
Wolfmaster hoped it was just a rumor. He raised his hand in the air.

"What is it pilot?" It was RA Woobee who asked. "Sir, please have a look at
this report. Almost life-feed." Wolfmaster handed the commodore a datapad
with a copy of the report. "My, my, Bruc, take a look at it..." - the
commodore quickly lost interest with previous topics. It looked like it was
something interesting yet for to come.

:: 1605 hours, tuesday, march 13, 2001
:: ISD Grey Wolf, borders of CRC-352

The planets were orbiting in peace and harmony. Wolfmaster felt the beauty
of the deep space others got used to. He was still treating space as a
wonder of creation and therefore loved flying combat patrols, which other
pilots found rather boring. He took his gunboat in a sharp turn. Nothing
unusual. He turned the music on. There were also few other fighters
patrolling, as you never know. However, there were no Crusaders. Why? I
don't have to tell you how pilots smash into bars and the Crusaders had been
celebrating Mike's promotion to major.
Yeah, Wolfmaster's head seemed to remember it and soon the young lieutenant
felt growing pain behind his eyes. He tried to ignore it, but it was not
easy as the pain was getting stronger every minute. Tomaas was about to fly
home when they arrived.

Ghost Dog squad had a long history and a long tradition among other rebel
"elite" squadrons. They were created not for fighter superiority, hit and
fades or so. They were a retaliatory squadron. Rebel aces who had their
debts against the Empire enlisted in their ranks since Alderaan. Wolfmaster
did know their tactics. It was in and blast evrything in sight but other
Ghost Dog members. Even other NR forces if they were standing in GDs way.
This made them really dangerous and unpredictable.

This time, there were just four of them. Flying the Shadowlancer-series
X-Wings. Wolfmaster was always amazed with amount of damage the
Shadowlancers could inflict. It was no time. He forgot about the annoying
pain and engaged the rebels.

However, his opponent was definitely a Ghost Dog. Getting a lock wasn't
possible as the X-Wing maneuvered carefully, blasting away some poor TIE
Interceptor. Wolfmaster concentrated. If the pilot was so rude to avoid a
lock, then be it, he thought. He switched everything on to engines, giving
the gunboat a kick. However, it was no slam and time was critical here.
There was only time for one good shot before he had to intercept the other
three which cleaned up the other fighters on patrol. Grey Wolf was launching
all its fighters now, but he had to scratch down the leader. He decided.
First, he cleared his targeting computer. Then, he looked at the three
X-Wings closing to the ISD. He imagined a vector of their approach and
seconds later, 6 concussion missiles left his launcher to meet the
Shadowlancers. Meanwhile, Tomaas did not notice that the fourth Ghost Dog
had enough of being the prey and got behind the lieutenant to become the
hunter. Wolfmaster did a two-roll followed by an eight but the X-Wing was
still behind him, still closing on...

A distant explosion informed Wolfmaster that the missiles hit something. The
computer showed that 5 of the missiles hit. Quite good, for it left the Grey
Wolf attacked by two X-Wings, one more damaged than other. They decided to
hyper out. It was surprising. Or weren't them Ghost Dogs?

'pshhhhh' Back to reality, Wolfmaster. The gunboat was hit by a good salvo.
Wolfmaster lost his rear shields and all communications as well as the
threat monitor. He was blind and deaf, meaning almost as good as dead. Only
a miracle could save him now...

...or the Crusader squadron. Wolfmaster saw another two gunboats firing at
the Shadowlancer, melting his starboard engine into hot tears of revenge.
The fighter survived it, only his speed was cut a bit. The Shadowlancer
directed towards the Grey Wolf.

Advanceds, Gunboats, Interceptors, Bombers, Fighters, all those were chasing
a single fighter. The pilot managed to dodge most of the laser bolts and
recharged his shields. 1 klick. The Grey Wolf begins shooting. 0.75
klicks... such a heavy fire forces the pilot to do a loop. 1.2 klicks... a
turn. Two TIE Interceptors collide. The Shadowlancer goes insane. Another
TIE Interceptor down. Amazing and deadly. Wolfmaster knew what he had to do.
Again, everything set to power up the engines. He had two more missiles
left. The gunboat entered formation with the X-Wing, tighting it every
second. 0.6 klicks... blasts of laser fire hit Wolfmaster, reminding him
that the rest is still trying to nail the Shadowlancer. Wolfmaster pulled
the lever.

Heavily damaged gunboat went for the Grey Wolf. And the Shadowlancer. They
touched. Two fighters collided and dissapeared in a cleansing ball of holy
fire from the two missiles that were not launched. Wolfmaster watched it go
hell, saving the Grey Wolf, and chuckled... before losing his breath. He had
only two minutes of life. The deep space was beautiful and extremely deadly
these days.

An always-ready SAR shuttle approached the unconscious body and hauled it
in. The pilot survived another day. This time, he survived a really
unexcpected encounter.

Fortunately, there was a bacta tank aboard the Grey Wolf...
