Beth Squadron Report #10 - April 2nd, 2000

Introduction
--------------------------------------------
That week was quite slow and the meeting attendance was the worst ever, but
at least everyone voted in the Competitions poll. The results were that most
of you would like to have a writing contest and/or a Inter-Squadron flying
compeition. We'll start with the short story writing contest as soon as I
get it TO-approved.

Squadron News and Activity

- CM Werdna, LCM Var and CM Sequoh attended to this week's meeting - that
were the fewest ever, I'd like to know from each of you why you didn't
come, ASAP!
- LT Cal completed IW-22
- The Comp. Poll ended. The writing contest has won and the Inter-Squad.
flying comp. came in second.
- LCM Nylad changed his email address to nylad@hotmail.com
- LCM Nylad recieved a Silver Star for the creation of the new Operations
Office Site layout. Congrats!

- SL Herman joined Daleth 3-3 and was promoted to LT
- LCM EggFoo of Daleth has been awarded the Medal of Instruction
- Wing III membership at 35

- ImpStorm Update #3

BLUE FORCE VICTORIOUS IN PIRATH SYSTEM
Blue Forces celebrate their first victory on Day Four of the Battle
Exercise, with a crushing defeat of Red Force's garrison in the Pirath
system. Both of Red Teams' Star Destroyers, the ISDs Immortal and Grey Wolf,
along with their two escorts, the Frigates Ardent and Onamo were lost with
all hands.

Blue Teams' starfighter Squadrons did not escape without losses of their own
however, as Red Team's heavily outnumbered and outclassed fighter defences
fought to defend their motherships. Wing IV in particular took a mauling,
but all Blue Fighter Squadrons remain technically operational, if suffering
from combat losses.

A full list of all casualties, including the names of all pilots Killed In
Action is at the Imperial Storm Command Website.


- Imperial Storm Update #2

BATTLE ALERT!

The ISDs Immortal and Grey Wolf have been jumped in the Pirath system by a
vastly superior Blue Fleet. An enemy Interdictor Cruiser is preventing
escape, and Red Forces are so badly outnumbered that they cannot co-ordinate
enough ships to mount an effective rearguard. Red Team's ships are doomed,
the only question is how many of Blue Team's ships they can take to hell
with them.
All Wing XI and Wing XIII pilots to your ships! You are under attack!

- Battle of the Day

Today's Battle of the Day is a five-mission X-Wing Alliance battle:
TC-XWA #4: Privateer

- New Medal - Distinguished Flying Cross

Admiral Howlader has announced a new medal that can be awarded by the Combat
Operations Officer (or his assistants) to an individual winning an official
multiplayer competition: The Distinguished Flying Cross.

The Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) is worth five Combat Rating points
each. Earning five DFCs will earn you the Bronze Wing add-on, receive ten
DFCs for the Silver Wing add-on, and receive twenty DFCs for the Gold Wing
add-on.


- New multiplayer competition open to the fleet

The COO, Admiral Havoc, has agreed to let us host another online Comp (XvT
and XWA) on Wednesdays from 1400 - 1630 hrs EST in channel #EH_ASF. LoC's
will be awarded by the COO. The Wednesday Comp will be moderated by myself,
Commander Chrusos Ichthys and COM Rear Admiral Cyric (from time to time). I
look forward to this new competition. It will give our pilots on CET a
wonderful opportunity to fly online.
