Expectations are high, obviously. Kowalski got a much-deserved promotion. There’s a new TIE Tactics professor over at IWATS. And it’s been claimed that the EH Ladder is back online, even thought the link is still dead.

Wing News
Can it be true? Will Malaktos really step down as Dagger commander? First Kane, and now Malaktos (if he carries through with his threat to step down). Tune in tomorrow for the next exciting installment. Or not.

Other than that, the Wing’s been pretty quiet. Presumably everyone’s busy putting their submissions together for the Battlegroup Competition, especially since the Wing IX mailing list is generating reminders daily. “Even random violence seems boring today.” – Vyvyan (the token Young Ones line of the week)

Squadron News
We had another Reservist join us this week. Everyone give a warm welcome to Commander Darkfire, who joined the squadron on the 27th and promptly submitted four .trfs. It appears that he’s happy to be back with the fleet…;)

So far I’ve gotten fiction from most of the squadron, which is good. Hopefully we’ll have 100% participation. Just a reminder: Phase I ends on the 7th of March, so I need your submissions before then.

Don’t forget, I’m also looking for new flight mottoes and nicknames. Now that we have six members, we can even do this as a formal in-squadron competition and get medals for it.

LT Narshay over in Shield Squadron has come up with a uniform-size version of the squadron patch for us. If you’d like a copy of either the uniform version or the full-size one, let me know. I’ve updated my profile with the new patch if you want to see what it looks like.

Activity Reports
CMDR/CM Krax Tarnisar: Did this report. Completed TC166 and TC152. Awarded an ISM for work with the Logistics Office. Submitted a battle to the Tac Office. Answered some questions from a cadet in Alpha Company on the Daedalus. Along with the usual commander-type stuff.

FM/LT Pirat: No contact. E-mail me ASAP.

FM/LT Argyle Ironfist: Posted to the squadron mailing list. Also submitted a fine piece of fiction for the competition detailing his homeworld.

FM/CM Darkfire: Checked in. Flew TC 11-14. Started a thread on the TC Message Board. Working on fiction for the competition.

FL/CM Brad Tack: Checked in. Working on fiction for the competition.

FM/LT Owen: Checked in. Revising his fiction submission for the competition.

Miscellaneous
Remember to check in with me via e-mail (either directly or through the mailing list) at least once a week. This isn’t that hard to do, and it’s required in Spear Squadron. It’s also one of the few things that I’m NOT flexible about.

If there’s enough interest, I may stage a little flying competition in-house before Phase III of Cantina Run III begins. Let me know what you think, and if you’d prefer a Free Mission or a Battle. This is also a good time to let me know if technical problems won’t allow you to fly (broken joystick, dead computer, etc.).

Also, with the assignment of CM Darkfire, we reached the six member plateau. That means we can start earning squadron citations for flying battles again.
