Tornado Squadron Briefing - 18th July 1999





Not a very good week for the squadron with LCM Dave departing...but we did make
it to the SL Semi Finals! :)


Fleet News
- TIE Corps Membership reaches 900! The 900th member was Cadet Robert!
- The Logistics Office is looking for assistants, if you are good with graphics,
or experienced with forms and Dreamweaver, please send any and all applications
to Vice Admiral Zsinj, but CC Admiral Ted Tiger.
- AD Horn is on leave. He'll be coming back on Monday.


Wing News
- CM Nightwolf, previously of Inferno squadron, has transferred to Typhoon
Squadron; Typhoon now has 12 pilots.
- MAJ Manitsas is currently on leave until 29th July; CM Mauser is in charge of
Inferno until then. MAJ Nightflyer is also on leave; LCM Nazghul is in charge of
Tempest until he returns.
- COL Striker is on leave from July 18th to August 16th...an acting WC has yet
to be decided. Also, COL Striker's email address has changed to
jmcx97@club-internet.fr, please update your address books.


Squadron News
- LCM Dave, after thinking his decision through thoroughly, has decided to
transfer to the Reserve Corps. His RL demands are simply too high at the moment
for him to be active in the EH as well. You're welcome back whenever you're
ready Dave! ;)
- COL NiksaVel will be rejoining Tornado squadron as soon as he recieves the TIE
95 CD I sent him....(I guess air mail to Croatia is pretty slow :P).
- With LCM Dave leaving, I've decided to alter the roster a little, and have
transferred LCM Jofus to Flight III, so everyone now has a Flight Leader to
report to. Flight Members don't forget that any activity should be reported to
your FL as well as me, so they can compile their Flight Reports.
- I have begun construction of a Battle Database for the squadron website, where
the number of Tornado pilots that have completed every EH Battle is shown, as
well as if a citation has been awarded (or if we are not far off earning a
citation). Each Battle can be downloaded directly from the TAC Office. The pages
are still under heavy construction, as creating them is very time consuming, but
so far TC Battles 1 to 60 have been added to the database, and are online.
- I'll be on leave once more for my summer holidays in South France...I'll be
away from 24th July to August 7th (a day before the deadline for the SL Playoff
final). CM Steele will be in charge while I'm away...however all TFRs should
still be sent to me as well (for the Monthly Squadron Report).

Well as you can see, we hammered Kappa quite badly, so now we will be going head
to head with Omega! We beat them in the quarters, so let's do it again in the
semis! This time there is only one mission to fly, so I want 100%
participation...and please, no late entries. CM Badlands, your entry got in 20
minutes before the deadline! Here's the fixtures for the semis and finals:

Wing X vs Wing I Competition
Free Mission Pappy1 is to be played by August 10th, TFRs go to myself, CM Steele
