Tornado Squadron Briefing - 11th July 1999





I'm just back from leave, therefore I'm tired, therefore the report is quite
short :P


Fleet News
- HA Kawolski, our Flight Officer and TIE Corps Commander, has announced he is
to resign. AD Horn will take over his position as FO. Kawolski has done an
excellent job with the TC last year bringing membership from ~400 to well over
800! You'll be missed K :(
- With AD Horn becoming the new FO, the CA:FO position will be open soon...
- COL Motti has returned to the COMM Office as the new COMMA. He will be taking
care of all MoC related duties on the main EH WWW MB. He will be rewarding MoC's
for as far back as June 5th. It isn't possible for him to cover all posts back
to when COL Tad made his final update (late April) as it would be too much work.
- VA Zsinj is the new CA to the Logistics Officer, after VA Tron was appointed
as the CA:XO.
- The position of COM aboard the ISD Vanguard is open...applicants need to
contact AD Horn....please, no one from Tornado go for it :P


Wing News
- CM Mell as stepped down as Cyclone CMDR after an incident which occurred a few
days ago; he has resigned from the EH. The position of Cyclone CMDR is open. One
of the Cyclone members has left as well, and many have transferred to Zayin
Squadron. Cyclone is now in a bit of a mess again, and COL Striker ain't too
happy...


Squadron News
- CM Steele I assume you coped with your Temp-CMDR position while I was on
leave, thank you for taking care of the squadron. Next time remember to CC me
with all mails that you send to the squadron ;)
- LT Val Ricaud has left Tornado Squadron to become the new Mu Squadron CMDR! He
has been promoted to CM and transferred to the ISD Colossus...we'll miss you
Val, but good luck in your new position.
- Emphasis on INPRs (Imperial Navy Pilot Records) seems to have dwindled during
the SL, but it's something that can be quite fun to do, and makes a change from
flying battles all the time ;). As far as I know, the following people do not
have INPRs: LCM Jofus, CM Badlands, LCM Dave and LT Spaceboy. Any of you wishing
to make an INPR, just check out the existing ones in the fiction section of the
OPS Office


Competitions

Squadron League
The quarter finals end on Wednesday...Free Missions Tad1 and Wolly1 must be
flown by then. We are playing against Kappa squadron...let's kick ass! When we
beat them, we''l then go up against either Cheth or Omega (sheesh!), but so long
as we stick at it, we have a good chance!

Activity Reports

You may not think it but you guys have got it easy; the SL quarter final
consists of just two Free Missions, and the Wing X vs Wing I comp is also a Free
Mission. For those of you not too good at Maths, that's 3 missions...just three!
They shouldn't take a long time, so I expect almost full participation with
these comps (Dave...do you reckon you'll have time for 2 missions?).

We seem to have had an excellent week for the squad, with plenty of medals being
awarded...now let's see if we can get some more TFRs in for the Quarter final
against Kappa squadron ;)
