KAPPA SQUADRON REPORT, 22nd April 2002, Captain Algaron

- Jan Wemmel has departed the squadron to take up his position of Fleet Medical Officer. This of course free's up the Flight Leader position of Flight II. I will keep the application procedure internal. If you want the job then email me with the reasons why you think you would make a good FL and I award to the applicant who shows the most commitment and dedication to the squadron over the next few weeks.
- We have a very busy month ahead in terms of flying. We are now involved in two inter-Squadron competitions as well as Imperial Storm III. I expect nothing less than 100% effort in all three of these competitions. Details in the Squadron Orders section.
- CPT Algaron receives the Imperial Security Medal for his performance in the Squadron Command role since taking over at the end of February. Thanks Ford!
- We had another Kappa Meeting on Sunday arranged by Tempest. The main point of conversation was the impending competitions and moral looks good. I am awarding 1 KAPS point for all attendees.
- LCM Tim's TC Chatterbox competition came to and end with Psi's Jon taking first place. However, our own Dash Riprock finished a very creditable second. I have awared him the standard 2 KAPS points for a runner-up position. Good job Dash!

- Imperial Storm III starts today and I want Kappa Squadron fully involved throughout - make sure you are up to speed with all the rules and regulations by reading through the details at http://www.emperorshammer.net/wo/is3/
- Kappa vs. Praetorian Squadron - we will be flying 4 TIE-FREE missions over the course of the next month. The top 5 scores from each squadron will count towards their weekly total and the cumulative results posted in this WSR and the Kappa website. The first mission to fly is TIE-FREE 88 (attached) and the deadline is 28th April. I absolutely demand 100% participation. I have cc'd Praetorian Commander, Captain Loor, on this WSR so that he can pass on the competition details to his Squadron.
- Kappa vs. Sin Squadron - we are not historically an XWA Squadron, but I for one am getting into it a little more. Sin have challenged us to a competition and I have chosen XWA-TC 7 (attached). The rules have been changed to a total score competition so get those TFRs in to me for a 28th April deadline. Don't leave it to the last minute as a lot of us are inexperienced XWA flyers - myself included.
- Recruitment - please lend assistance to CM Tempest in his efforts to recruit new pilots.
- The New Face of Kappa - we have all the new nicknames sorted as follows - Kappa Squadron will be known as "The Dragons of Wing II", and the flights will be named "Wyvern Flight, Gryphon Flight, and Midgard Flight" respectively - need those mottos now, so get your thinking caps on. KAPS points go those suggestions I end up using. No suggestions last week - if we have nothing this week I will create all the mottos myself.
- Kappa Squadron Encylopaedia - as always, if you have any submissions for this I'll incorporate them into the site and award KAPS points for good work.
- Fiction Competition - as you know I am writing a fictional epic titled "Apocalypse Rising" - I've written the prologue, but Chapter 1 will be bang up to date and incorporate all of you guys. I therefore want you to write your own mini-autobiographies so that I get an impression of how to build your personalities into the finished work. It doesn't have to be overlong - just something that I can use to help writing your character into my story - attitudes, allignments, physical appearance, mentality etc. - be creative, but be serious. I will also publish any work on your profile page of the Kappa HP. If I could have submissions by the end of the month it would be most appreciated. I'll give 5 KAPS points for entries, and a further 5 for the one I judge to be the best. Get that creative juice flowing. No entries so far!
- Compete for KAPS points - the April leaderboard is very open, so get active and try to secure top spot. Remember, there are lots of ways to score points. Check the website Status page for full details.
