Fury Report # 9 (2009-04-25)

This report was submitted by CMDR-TCS/CM RichyV/Fury/Wing XIX/ISDII Subjugator

Fury WSR #9
Pilots of Fury.

I believe that we are now fully-functional again & have received comms from all previously 'grounded' pilots. I myself am 'up-and-running' again too, happy times! Although I'm waiting to hear from our WC whose health has not been the best recently & I know we all wish him a speedy recovery...

"Gentlemen, a slow time within the TC at the moment, a very slow time, but this should not give us the right to become complacent and 'give-up'. There is a new Raise the Flag comp coming soon & I'd like to see us put in some sort of showing; certainly a better showing than we have in our Squadrons' Competitions anyway - which are still to have ANY entries. You can do better..!"

Where we are at and what we are doing...

7-days since my last Sqn Report and I have only heard from the following Squadron Pilots:-

COL Exar Kit
LC Quincy Nelson

Let's see... one contact last week, two this week, are we going for three next..?

Standing Orders:
  • Participate in some competition listed below, preferably either of ours ;)
  • Make it your goal to have some activity that I can report next week.
  • Get hold of TTT2 and upload your Uniform to the TC DB - I'd like to see more Fury Pilots represented, as many of you hold Ranks & Awards to be proud of!
  • Every week I expect every Pilot to REPORT IN, Though there are currently no AWOL's being processed, please don't let that breed complacency..

In Closing:

Feel free to check-out Version 2 of our Fury Squadron website that LC Quincy Nelson has been working on, HERE and let either he or I know of any additions that you'd like to see. My thanks go to the Lieutenant Colonel who started this project of his own volition. Also, get involved in your Squadron's activities, please!

Several other Squads are beginning to record activity and many individuals are flying again as can be attested to by the Pilot Kill Board. Fury has many talented individuals in it's ranks - let's make it a great Squadron once more!

As I've mentioned before - ALL of you are expected to contact me each week with your intended activity or reasons for inactivity. This seems to be filtering through as I am getting more communications from you, thank you - but we also need to see more flying.

Still no entries in either of our in-Squad Comps is NOT a particularly good place to be at the moment, but that seems about the size of this squad's (I use the term loosely) intentions - still 5 days left where I'd like to see a Banner, at least! It seems the TC is going through a particularly dry-spell activity-wise, with the TCCOM releasing the news that no applications for the only Elite Squadron's Commander-post have been forthcoming & its existence is even in doubt. I'm sure we all hope that we can keep Prae and the chances it brings our best pilots. In other news, a new RtF Competition will be along between May 4th-17th in which I'd like to see Fury get some points. Unfortunately it falls on the very 2-weeks I am away holidaying in Spain, although I'm hoping to get some BSF's off on the very 1st and last days of the comp as I will just about be around then.

My reports are becoming increasingly tiresome in that all I seem to do is ask for your activity - I should not need to ask, but I'm sorry to say, with our low numbers & the threat of AWOL removed, it is far too easy just to sit back and be inactive. I'd be interested to know what our top-brass have to say about the matter. Indeed, it is not just our squadron or wing, but the whole of the TIE Corps that needs to take stock - maybe the RtF Comp will have the desired effect.

I'd like to hear from all of you over the coming week outlining your readiness for the forthcoming Competition and how you will be participating for Fury Squadron!

You are dismissed.

Respectfully submitted.

CM RichyV. Commander of Fury Squadron.
