KAPPA SQUADRON REPORT, 8th April 2002, Captain Algaron

- By far the best news this week, is the return of the legendary COL Astarosta - not only is he the finest officer I have ever had the honour to fly with, he is also a great friend to us all. To have him back marks a very emotional return - I for one will be draining a couple of beers to welcome him home. There will be a few sore heads in the Kappa barracks tomorrow morning no doubt, and rest assured I won't be springing a suprise 6AM kit inspection on you all. To airlock54 everyone - first round on me!
- The Sovereign underwent has undergone a rather dramatic reconstruction. No longer able to support 6 wings, the decision was made to close Wing VI and redistribute the pilots around the remaining five Wings. Wing II has been boosted with the 10 pilots previously of Shin Squadron who have now taken their respective positions amongst the newly re-opened Rho Squadron. I would like to welcome Captain Seth Crimson and his pilots to our beloved Wing, and wish him all the best in intergrating smoothly with us, during what must be a time of great upheaval for them all. Let's all try to make them feel right at home.
- The Kappa website is still down due to a major crash on the united.kg server - hopefully it will be back up and running shortly. If not back this week, I'll pack up the old HTML bags and head off in search of a new web provider.
- CPT Algaron passes the Flash IWATS course with a 100% passing grade - that makes 19 so far, the most in Wing II.
- I've put together a Fiction Competition - see below for details.

- The New Face of Kappa - we have all the new nicknames sorted as follows - Kappa Squadron will be known as "The Dragons of Wing II", and the flights will be named "Wyvern Flight, Gryphon Flight, and Midgard Flight" respectively - need those mottos now, so get your thinking caps on.
- Kappa Squadron Encylopaedia - as always, if you have any submissions for this I'll incorporate them into the site and award KAPS points for good work.
- Kappa Training - fly TIE-TC 68 (attached) - the deadline is next Sunday (14th April) - I'll award 4 bonus KAPS points for the top score and a bonus of 2 for second place - that's on top of the 5 you will get for flying the missions of course. As always with these assignments I expect and demand 100% participation unless a good excuse can be offered.
- Fiction Competition - as you know I am writing a fictional epic titled "Apocalypse Rising" - I've written the prologue, but Chapter 1 will be bang up to date and incorporate all of you guys. I therefore want you to write your own mini-autobiographies so that I get an impression of how to build your personalities into the finished work. It doesn't have to be overlong - just something that I can use to help writing your character into my story - attitudes, allignments, physical appearance, mentality etc. - be creative, but be serious. I will also publish any work on your profile page of the Kappa HP. If I could have submissions by the end of the month it would be most appreciated. I'll give 5 KAPS points for entries, and a further 5 for the one I judge to be the best. Get that creative juice flowing.
