Vav Squadron Report #1

Introduction

With half the squadron on leave, and nearly everyone else unable to fly, it's hardly surprising that this was a quiet week for Vav Squadron. However, next week is set to be action packed so get ready for some new competitions over the following week, some of our pilots coming back from leave and hopefully some new faces in our ranks (you never know!).

New CMDR
Less than a week ago I was made CMDR of Vav Squadron. Now on to more important things...

Vav vs. Demon Competition
You must fly XWA-FREE #63 before Wednesday 3rd July. There will be a IS-BW for the highest scoring pilot. The competition outcome will be determined by average scores for each squadron, so good participation is needed. Send your pilot files to werdna_elbee@hotmail.com. 

Leave Status
Sequoh and Var should be back today. Please send some email notification so I'm sure you're back.
Mayk is still on leave until 30th June.
Seth and Lavos still can't fly XWA right now.

War of Squadrons
Round 2: Vav defeats Hey! WE WON! We get our first point in the league! Better yet, we got full participation...I told you that even if we don't win all our rounds, if everyone flies we'll do well in the league.

Round 3: Full participation from Vav Squadron for this round too. Admittedly it was only me and Cal flying, but it looks good on the records! Deadline for pilot files is today if anyone wants to hand in a high score. Expect the results sometime this week.

Round 4: It should be starting this weekend. Check your inboxes for details from the WC. I'll also be sending a reminder on the Vav mailing list.

Fleet News

Database Maintence

Crystaltech has informed me that maintenance will be performed on the database server we use on June 26th, between midnight and 3AM. It's most likely the site won't work during that period.

• Attend IRC as often as possible. Remember that as well as #emperor's_hammer and #tiecorps, there is also #wing_iii to drop into. If you need any help getting on IRC and using mIRC (or whatever) mail me.
• Post on the Message Boards more often. Pay particular attention to the Wing III and Vav MBs! There are loads of the things at http://www.tiecorps.org/mb/ and http://www.ehnet.org/mb/
• We also have a few mailing lists to post one. Get talking on wing3@yahoogroups.com and vavsquadron@yahoogroups.com 
• Recruit!!!
