A happy Memorial Day to everyone in the US. I'll be attending a family BBQ so I probably won't be home too much on Sunday or Monday. I hope to get some flying in before I leave and when I get back though. The XWA Week Of War is currently going on and we're in the LAST week of SC4!!!

As you can see Phantom had a monster week, jumping from 5th to 1st. This came via the 15 LoC's earned during the week and gaining a buncha Combat Ranks because of it. Those 50pt jumps for new Combat Ranks or FCHG ranks really add up. Great work this week, we improved
over the weekly total which had been the highest weekly total yet til this week. Let's really bust it out this week it's the FINAL week for SC4.


I'd like to see everyone getting some points during the week, if you only have a little bit of time during the week just showing up at a MP comp and flying 1 match gets you 5 points for participation. 40 points if you win(including the medal and participation pts). Completing an Iwats course http://www.emperorshammer.net/to/ is 15 points per course and some courses are extremely easy if you follow the course notes. Let's see the Intrepid become the flagship!

Competition - Cobra Ace of the Month 
This will last the entire month of May. At the end of each week I will see who's earned the most
FCHG points for that week. #1) gets 4 points, #2)3 pts, #3)2 pts and #4)1 pt. After the month
is complete all the points from each week will be totaled and the winner will receive an Iron Star-Bronze WINGS.

Congrats go out to COL Miack who has been named WC of Wing IX!
Tadaaaa ! The Tactical Office presents you the Golden Tug Awards ! These new awards will be given for the best battles released over a particular year. The first edition of the Golden Tug Awards will reward the best creations of year 2001, and every pilot will be able to vote through the TC polling system. Prelude to Andevia results are out. I know people have been waiting a long time for these and thanks to everyone for their patience. Of special note is CM Philo of Yod squadron who placed in 4 events, truly leading by example and showing an exceptional level of activity. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone who took the time to participate. (BTW, congrats to our own LCM Vessicant who placed 3rd place in the Tie Fighter portion)
A position is now open on the Executive staff. The primary duties of the position will be the manufacture of news letters. The following skills and attributes will be required: 
Ability to produce standards-based HTML either by hand or via a proper editor such as Dreamweaver 
Ability to work to deadlines consistantly 
Must be able to work with various levels of command officers within the EH 
Some online chat ability (IRC, AIM) to receive instruction

Skipping Missions 
You are not allowed to skip a mission in a battle whatever the reason is. All missions of a battle must be completed. You are not to use the ingame 'skipping mission' option of X-Wing Alliance. If you encounter a battle that has a fatal bug in it that prevents you from playing the rest of the battle, you cannot edit your pilot file to skip the mission. If you encounter a fatal bug, fill out a Bug Report on the Battle Center to explain why you could not finish a mission, and save a backup of your pilot file so you can finish the battle after it has been repaired. Skipping missions may lead to have the batle removed from your combat profile.


Very impressive week everyone. I hope to see more of it this week. This is the final chance to secure the Intrepid it's rightfull spot as Flagship of the ASF. We've been in the lead since SC4 started way back in April, some of you may not have even been in the squad when this began! :) but you've more then contributed to keeping us in the lead, let's not lose this in the final week. Great job by Phantom, Blade, and Bolan on being active at the XVT Week Of War and in other TC comps.
