KAPPA SQUADRON REPORT, 3rd July 2002, Major Algaron

- The Hammer Squadron competition has come to an end with a whimper rather than a bang. We had a 60,000 point lead at the halfway stage, but by producing 7 TFRs from a possible 10 in the second half of the competition, Hammer Squadron stormed back to claim victory by the considerable margin of 80,000 points. We were beset during this competition by RL commitments and hardware problems for many of our pilots, but it still must said that our effort was way below what I would normally expect. We must put things right quickly and make sure we return to winning ways in the near future. In the meantime congratulations must go to CMDR Jaruus and Hammer for a well fought victory - they become the first Squadron to defeat Kappa in a total-score competition in over 2 years! - The KAPS point winner for June was rookie pilot LT Grinning Donkey. He's had a troubled time recently but has shown great character and commitment to Kappa Squadron with his efforts, especially in the IWATS classroom. He was closely followed by LT Shimir who has also established himself quickly as a worthy addition to our ranks. Between them Donkey and Shimir scored 136 points in June. The rest of the Squadron combined scored just 32! Let's all try to step it up in July and restore some pride to Kappa. Full KAPS standings are now up-to-date on the Kappa HP Status page.
- As a consequence of their exceptional performance during the first month of their Tie Corps careers both LT Grinning Donkey and LT Shimir are awarded the Imperial Security Medal. Great job guys - keep up the good work.
- CM Tempest receives the Iron-Star Bronze Wings for his top scoring efforts in our defeat against Hammer Squadron. Congrats Temp!
- I have chosen CM Tempest's entry for the new Kappa Squadron Banner. As usual Temp came up with a graphical masterpiece, and it now takes pride of place on the Kappa HP and the Tie Corps Roster page. Tempest receives 6 KAPS points for winning the competition.
